In-running odds

I just watched the 4:15 at Beverly and the favourite was withdrawn seconds before the race yet in running that 1000 to back didn’t pop up whatsoever, instead it stayed steadily at 3-4 and then 22 near the end as though it was in the race 🤣🤣 Is that normal now?

And how long are my posts moderated for?

If it was withdrawn before the off then it’s a non runner, so laying at 1000 will be pointless as the bets will be void.
Now on the other hand if you have special robots or indeed some say betfair themselves you can manipulate the market by placing large volumes on the horse to win during in play in the hope of taking up a percentage from the 100% book that can never win therefore pushing out the odds of the other runners so you can take advantage, that’s why it traded like it was still in the race, they were backing to manipulate the odds.
Its a bit more sophisticated now but many years ago people would hammer non runners into odds as low as 1.01 in low key markets like South African racing in the hope the real horse that was going to win would be pushed out to 100 by a less sophisticated robot.
