Haylaman looks like a Gaye chance type today, last two runs upped in class and trip, dropping back today.

Not a race I am getting involved in but just an observation from my workings of the race.

Can I ask how you are you determining the class of the race?
I agree that it 3LTO race was a class 3 and its next 2 races were a class 2 so from that you could say it was up in class but the prize money for 3LTO and 2LTO was the same so was it really up in class 2LTO?

Prize money on offer.

They were both class 2 but in my opinion a prize of £63,000 will attract better horses than the £12,000.
Although both officially classed as a class 2.

I understand people will disagree but trainers and owners are after the money!

My post did not explain what I meant correctly, by saying he was a Gaye Chance type I meant that on my workings of the first numerical picture Haylaman could either have a basic consistency total of 8 which would have shown him as one of the 3 most consistent or 15 which did not.

I believed he had been stepped too far up in class and would take the consistency rating as 8, which gave a good first numerical.

I did not bet as after looking further I decided that would just watch this time.

Have just re-read your question!

The step up in trip is relative to a step up in class, (I think Bob has mentioned this before somewhere here before too) and also the groupings of courses I use has Pontefract as a lower class racecourse.
 
I looked at Haylaman today, it was only his last race that put me off.

He marked his card on 23rd June over 10 furlongs, if it hadn't been for his last race I would have backed it as well.

Glad we both did not back him! There Was a much better price of 7.0 last night on Betfair available, I have been trying to not bet E.W as I feel I relax too much then and go for bets that I probably shouldn't!
