Handicap Class Droppers

Farce of a chase at Down Royal. They omitted the last 2 fences before the race and a staying chase turns into a half mile flat race. You'd think the jockeys in it might have been aware of that when they jumped off. Jock on the winner certainly was.

Ascot handicap hurdle showed why you can't simply say a horse that hasn't run over jumps recently should be filtered out before you even start. The winner ran on the flat recently in a maiden race and duly noted as held up in rear making headway, went 4th towards finish and an eyecatcher.

A prep run without a shadow of a doubt.

Can't believe I changed my mind from Bacio to Commanche Brave at Keeneland. What a daft move on my part.
Bacio bolted in never looked like getting caught. CB was too far back and in traffic. He's no Libertango that's for sure, so never going to pick the winner up.

Seeing as there are doubts for me about several higher up the weights in the Southwell 6:15 (if it ever gets to run) I have to go with Princling who really should have won at Ascot earlier this month. A bet for me.
