Going Corrections

It's worth it though tractorboy! When you know the exact procedure you used to set the standard, you will have a far better understanding of why something does or doesn't fit down the road. IMO this is invaluable..

Hi mlmrob

With the standards I was using before these were the winners ratings from Wolverhampton on 21st Jan

Cardinal 65
Rapid Heat Lad 59
Maypole Joe 46
Red Somerset 41
Monzino 57
Exning Halt 34
Noble Jack 74

With my own standard times they are now

Cardinal 60
Rapid Heat Lad 53
Maypole Joe 41
Red Somerset 44
Monzino 60
Exning Halt 33
Noble Jack 72.5

Any Help gratefuly received.

When you want to start using your ratings how do you retrieve the information you want without having to continually scroll through
the list.?

Highlight all the columns in your spreadsheet

Click on data

Click on Autofilter

Each column will will have little box with a triangle in it.

If you click on the box at the top of the column where your horses are a drop down menu will appear. Click on the horse you want and its rating will appear with all its others if it has more than one entry.

When your list gets big, it is best to click on the date it last ran an then its name which means less scrolling. Only that race will appear. However, if if click on the date box again and select all, all the horses figures will appear.

Enjoy.

If you are unsure, I will put my class ratings in the inner sanctum and you can see from that list.

Thanks mlmrob

Managed that OK , thought there may have been a simpler way , will have to buy a paper now as switching between worksheet and Sporting Life website
causes all the horses to be re-ticked.

On my figures I think Bussa will win the 5.35 and Adaeze has a good ew chance in the 8.05 if reproducing her run over C&D on Jan 10th.

Here is Mondays card at Wolverhampton using the above method.

race 1 Cardinal was 2.6secs slower than standard so the calculation is 2.6/0.2secs per length*3.5lbs per length which gives a figure of 54. Cardinal's OR was 69, so there was a difference of 15

race 2 Rapid Heat Lad SF 39 OR 73 Diff 33
race 3Maypole Joe SF 32 OR 55 DIFF 23
race 4 Red Somerset SF 32 OR 77 Diff 45
race 5 Monzino SF 48 OR 55 Diff 7
race 6 Exning Halt SF 18 OR 74 Diff 56
race 7 Noble Jack SF 60 OR 73 Diff 13

The fastest 3 races were race 1 15, race 5 7 and race 7 13. That adds up to 35/3 rounded up = 12. So thats 12 points to each speed figure.

Cardinal 66
Rapid Heat lad 51
Maypole Joe 44
RedSomerset 44
Monzino 60
Exning Halt 30
Noble Jack 72.

I think that is probably more in line
I dont get how you got these figures Rapid Heat Lad was 9.73 slow/0.2secs per length *1.12lbs per length=54, yet you have 39

I admire your faith in the ability of a thread, dead for the past 8 years, to throw up answers to your question. I will be fascinated to discover whether mlmrob mlmrob has any idea what his calculation was at the time.... I certainly wouldn't!

Bloody hell twmills twmills one day you will find something you're happy with. In all the years I have been on here you are probably the most inquisitive. Nothing wrong with that. But I'm sure brighter minds than me have tried to help you.
I can't remember what I did 8 days go nevermind 8 years. I could look through my betting records but I'm not going to.
