Fun System for the dogs :)

Hi All,
For the past couple of weeks I have been documenting the top rated dogs of:
Racing Post
SportingLife
Timeform
At the moment I am only doing afternoon races(usually three a day)because I am no whizz at web scraping I have to copy and paste the selections then organise them into a readable format.(any web scrapers geniuses out there!! :) :)>
Anyway once the month is up I will put the selections up here, and add an excell sheet.I started on august 10 so it will be here at september 10 or therabouts.
At the moment I am not doing any serious laying/betting with the dogs.I am still concerned that things have a changed a lot with patterns and stats post lockdown ,so I am waiting for the dog racing to return to total normality and take it from there. It seems a wee bit like that with the geegees as well.
Good Luck
Kenny

hello I been watching the free tipster on the greyhound star site these are tipster, trainers, and owners each day they have 100points to spend
and they have good days and bad but they do really get some stick from the editor when they lose but its quite entertaining so even these people
find it hard to pick winners

hi eeyore,
The star is a good read with some great writers,I haven't been there for a while but you have reminded me so I will go and have a nose :)

Hi all,
fun system update
The system is two in one.
A) is where the three sources agree on a dog..Racing Post TimeForm and SportingLife
B)When only a combo of any two of the three sources agree.
Just got the result up of system b
from 605 runs there were 126 wins for a 282 point level stake loss to SP
other stuff to follow

hello Kenny
I think that when all 3 sources agree its likely to be very short price our does your sample say otherwise
also been playing around with the greyhound star selection and find if the give 1 selection and person is in form they win

Long time ago now, but I remember paying £500 to Colin Davey for a similar system for the horses.
Basically it failed dismally and his 'special loss recovery' plan made things worse.
Luckily by then I had worked out that he was a conman, but it was an expensive learning curve.

Hi eeyore,
Yes most of the prices are short and the many are favs. The idea would be for a laying system, but this does come down to what you can get on BF.Including Racing Post in the mix means that a lot of the selections go off as fav's because for some strange reason a lot of people trust the RP's ability to find winners which has the consequence of bad value fav's which in turn is usefull in laying systems because the BF price will fall correspondingly.
Good luck

Bloomin eck dave... Colin Davey, there is a blast from the past :) :) :).Do you remember the Winning Line!!!.A mate paid for a 3 month subscription and ended up 28 points down.I remember phoning a premium rate line up once called the Oracle. It took him ten minutes to give me 3 favs two of which lost ond one won at 4/7,tempted though I was I gave the oracle a miss after that :) :) :).

Good luck

Indeed. It took me a long time and a fair bit of money to work out that most of the so called tipsters out there are worse than useless, and that it's much more satisfying to work things out for yourself.

Best of luck with your idea.

hi all here is one form the star
It’s three from three from this guy – in profit Deltic Rebecca
(R9 T2) sheffield

quick update on the system:
Ive not posted any more figs up because I am writing a program to take the winning prices and attaching the BF prices to them.I have decided to take a price 12 seconds before the off.So when the results come in we can see what we would have got on BF and to sp at the 12 second stage prior to startime..It's proving tricky am trying to use python but am quite new to it,so I think I might just use cymatic trader and use their excel/vba facilty.
PS just a few observations.None of the ratingsRP TF ans SP) show a profit on their own,but that is only to be expected.Out of the three TF seem marginally better at picking non- favs, but having said that all three rely heavily on favs and near favs,so this has the basis of a laying system as mentioned above the 3 agree system over the period made a 282 point loss, which operating at the lower end of the market has some potential for laying.
good luck
