Fulham vs Newcastle

tonyafc

Gelding
Hi just a few thoughts on tonights game Fulham look to be up against it with a visit of Raffas Newcastle especially since they sold Ross McCormack to Villa, goals look to be hard to find this season and urgent replacements will need to be added.Last season Fulham finished 20th only 11 points clear of relegation but scored and conceded in 33 games last term over 1.5 goals is currently 1.33 on bf and I will have a small bet on this I also like the sraight Newcastle win at 2.06 but again for small stakes all thoughts on the above welcome.

I wrote a small piece elsewhere on the Interweb concerning the amount of money both Aston Villa and Newcastle will receive in parachute payments over the next 3 seasons (Norwich's slice will be quite a bit smaller but even so it's a staggering figure for just a season in the Prem), it'll be £87 million to the Magpies and to Villa and although they have a large wage bill to keep in check I think £40 million in the first season down, their huge fanbase and prudent spending may see Newcastle go straight back up. They looked to have spent comparatively small amount in the close season: Newcastle United (Sky Sports), the players out figure (£'s) looks to be about in balance without knowing the deals in detail it looks a cautious spend.

Fulham's activity has been decidedly modest in comparison to many other Champ sides and considering they shipped in the region of 80 goals last season (and managed to finish beneath Bristol City even, suggests just how poor they were ) and also perhaps shows just how much their defence needed strengthening, I think that they have brought in one defender and a midfield player, I can see them struggling again this season.

Gl tonyafc tonyafc , 2.06 looks a good price for Newcastle if they hit the ground showing full intent!

Ah the fickle fate Newcastle dominate possession but lose 1-0 take my bets with them no excuses not enough data for a proper bet hence the minimal losses luckily as I couldn't have read this one more wrong if I tried apologies for this one will try harder in future.

Well we were pants last season *tom* *tom* , there's no getting away from it. As fans of 'normal' sides 1 season of ecstasy is usually followed by half a dozen of mediocrity is it not? People forget (other than ourselves) how Bristol City (in my case) cake walked league 1 the season before last with three in the middle and wing backs flying, no one could get near us. Reality check last season when Steve Cotterill doggedly stuck to a more rigid framework, it needed Little Lee to begin to put things right. Hopefully our Icelandic signing can get us up the table this season.

Are you "Forest born and Forest bred" by any chance( F-O-D-way?)? GL with FGR this season, missing out was cruel after a great start to the season and solid display through to the end, shame only one goes up automatically.

:) Cheers *tom* *tom* , all the best to you and yours and to a closet Hoops/R's fan, best of luck for the coming season. A test of our own today against newly promoted Wigan....
It certainly won't do Newcastle any favours if they think they can just turn up to take all the spoils in the Championship, it's a very competitive league even though quality wise it can't match the Prem.

No apologies needed tonyafc tonyafc , we are all in the same boat and open to the same fickle finger of fate as you put it. Swim together, sink together, but together we'll make a stronger opposition to the fiddlers.
