Exacta and CSF difference

Hello all,

Is the exacta based on permutation, a b pays and b a pays, and CSF based on combination , a b will pay if in exactly that order?

I don't quite get it but it means exactas have half the bets as csfs so I'm very interested

An exacta and a csf are the same bet ie A will beat B but the returns are different due to the way they are worked out. An exacta is based on the pools size and the CSF is based on a calculation, that is unknown to me.

Thanks ArkRoyal, I was just confused by the results of the 6.15 last night which gave one exacta payout but 2 csfs. Thank you again for your help
