runnerjp runnerjp what do you consider a good chi score, I had a runner today in a system that is 58% win rate but the chi is 2.39, btw the selection came 5th in a 7 runner race, I think my 2 bob slowed it down considerably

I am looking for 4+ and 0.72 was no where near lol

TBH maybe I should have bet and I have got consumed by chi ...
Cant remember how i got to the point but I did note he seems to get a winner every year and atleast break even

I know this is more of an after boom here but i promis i didnt back it and more maybe a lesson involved here here stats like this come out

Sorry I should add - the Chi score in simple terms is how much is your win rate down to chance and how much is it down to fact

A higher Chi means the more its fact. a chi of 4+ is about 3% down to chance, so to me that says reliable that im onto something. I have seen people can (like proform) advise a chi of 3 but i suppose its what your combatable with .... after all i still have a 3% chance its just luck

The very 1st HRB system I set up with the help of Chesham Chesham is by far my best system it has a win rate of 37.8% but a chi score of 21.47, I could make a very small profit just backing each selection blindly, of course I don't do this :headbang:

Well, needless to say, not only could I not get near any good viewing point at the course, I lost big-time! :D
Ante-post can be a right mug's game.

Take-aways:

Hmmm, I think I'll do two things next year:
go back to following jockeys
and
watch for pedigrees with Frankel and Sea the Stars as well as Gallileo.

Ironically, I like Adam K, and know he's good at Epsom. So, on Oaks Day, I had him to win that, and , in fact, backed him in all races that day. Went round all the bookies in Epsom and also in Ashtead.
Well, that didn't work, either.
He missed the first race ( traffic problems) and Oisin placed, but, wasn't forceful enough to get though. The other races, he just couldn't do it; maybe bc of the slippery wet surface ( constant rain).

All I did on him next day was a small 4TBP bet on the Machine ( plus all the rest of the losing bets on others)! :D
How to skin yourself in one easy lesson!

OK, no after-timing, so here goes for next year's Derby:
Back all my favourite jockeys with good form at Epsom, and
back all Gallileos, Sea the Stars, and Frankels.

Should be a darned less costly than what I did this year!
And, if God spares me, I'll be able to be there on that Hill and watching. :handgestures-thumbup:

Btw, wt hell happened to tacker this time? Is he still AWOL?
He started the thread, but, I never heard a peep out of him since.
