Easter racing

I thought I would begin a thread for Easter racing.

Bets

£2 win Broomfield Bijou 6/1 4.10 Cork

£3 win Ballyfinn 11/4 2.20 Plumpton

Just some small bets.

You can put your Easter selections here, if you like.

I have just seen that Weveallbeencaught is running in the Irish Grand National 40/1 5.00 Fairyhouse, Tomorrow.

I was keen for a bet but see he wears cheekpieces. I'm being honest. I recently joined the Animal Welfare Party and it tough for me as an ex lad in horse racing and I enjoy it, but the side I hate is fatalities as I'm sure you all think that also. But I love sheep, my favourite animal. I see that not all sheepskin cheekpieces are real sheepskin, but of course, I have no way of knowing if this horse is wearing real sheepskin. It is tough for me to bet but could have as much as £10 E/W 40/1. I want to bet but this is a tough choice.

So Broomfield Bijou finished 2nd at Cork so £2 lost. Ballyfinn finished last of 4 at Plumpton so £3 lost. But it was fun!

Weveallbeencaught cut to 33/1 just as I was thinking if I should bet or not. This could be a sign so I'm leaving it. Just feel uncomfortable.

🧠 Strategic Angles

1. ❌ False Favourite Profile — Transmission

  • Big last win (Musselburgh) inflating price support
  • Carries top weight (12-0) in a stamina grind
  • Previous runs this season = poor

👉 This is a recency bias favourite, not a dominant one
👉 Vulnerable under LBS rules

🛠️ Suggested Structure (LBS Thinking — Not Tips)

Option A — Dutching Core (2–3 runners)

Focus:
  • Avoid the favourite (Transmission)
  • Target middle cluster runners with less hype
Structure idea:
  • 2 or 3 from:
    • Havaila (if holds price, not shortening)
    • Rivers Corner
    • Sea Invasion
👉 Goal: exploit indecision, not pick a winner

Just saying Seamus Mullins has a good record at Plumpton. Brunette's Only, Might As Well and Or Sing About as examples. In the 4.25 Plumpton, he runs Tommie Beau available at 14/1. Cheek Pieces though.

I also see Unanswered Prayers running well 9/1. Cheek Pieces again.

Lost Tommie Beau. Walkinthewoods just refused and unseated rider, at Hereford. Not been great at bets but they are small and just for an interest.

I have bet £5 E/W Weveallbeencaught 33/1 5.00 Fairyhouse, Irish Grand National, because I was liking him for Grand National. Uncomfortable because of Cheekpieces but last horse I back with cheekpieces.
