2 x interesting snippets for today.
*** neither are bets for me as I write
London Gold Cup: 3.00 Newbury
Trainer Roger Charlton has a 4-8 record in this race.
The 4 winners all went on to be top class horses.
4 of the 8 runners were making their handicap debut.
AND they are the 4 that won the race.
Kings Gambit fits the profile.
Buick booked.
Many of the racing pundits take the view this one is thrown in off the opening OR.
Always a very hard race to win.
IMHO this years renewal could be one of the best yet.
3.35 Newbury: Lockinge
Cheveley Park have kept Inspiral in training aged 5.
9-13 career record with nearly 3 million in prize money won.
Form figures first time out each season = 112
BUT she has never started her season in May.
June is the normal starting point.
226K to the winner today v. 425K at Royal Ascot.
The mare has been the flagbearer for the stud in recent years.
Let's hope for another great year.
Is she more forward this year or is this to get her cherry ripe for Ascot?
I am not sure how to read it to be honest.
Regards
