Cup Fever!

Sorry about that trying to post from my mobile thanks for posting Larry think that might be very useful information will check city team news tomorrow with a potential lay in mind

Hi Kev ArkRoyal ArkRoyal don't know how many will be playing but this is the team that played Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, as you see it includes their entire frontline, in fact Lampard is out having got injured in the game

Caballero, Sagna (Demichelis 78), Boyata, Mangala, Kolarov (Clichy 78), Fernando (Ambrose 46 (Navas 56)), Lampard (Sinclair 20), Milner (Zabaleta 78), Barker (Evans 46), Jovetic (Aguero 66), Dzeko (Celina 76)

Many fringe players Larry they are. Living in Manchester and a life long man u fan I can still see then winning as they have a huge squad and massive depth in it... And don't mention last nights debacle lol 0-0 the mighty Cambridge

footysystems footysystems with Caballero, Demichellis, Mangala, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernando, Navas, Lampard, Milner, Zabaleta, Jovetic, Aguerro & Dzeko I count 13 players that when fit are always in the matchday squad & 12 of those 13 have played at least 10 games this season, if thats classed as fringe players they must be fielding a weakened team every week;).
As for Man Utd against Cambridge I'm no lover of Manu but these things happen, no matter what the manager says you can't wipe it from players minds that this is an easy day at the office, as supporters we may get angry & start calling them overpaid primadonnas but tell me any job in the world where everyone is at their best everyday

sorry D djb38 & others if I've given you a bum steer, heard it on Talksport yesterday & checked Etihad's website. On Talksport at 4pm they were still talking about them landing at 7am this morning, there was a flight that landed at 2.30pm yesterday so they either got this one or had to shell out for a private charter sorry if I've misled anyone

Years ago I read a book on Sports betting by Keith Elliot, one thing he was big on was PML = POSITIVE MENTAL LETDOWN where a team plays out of its skin & still loses, he used it more in Basketball but said it did work on football. Although they didn't lose Liverpool battered Chelsea in the 2nd half & still didnt win, they'll obviously rest some players today against weaker opposition & those who do play will have 1 eye on tuesdays return fixture, Bolton will be up for it & I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Liverpool will win

btw 9 players that played on Weds for City & flew back either yesterday afternoon or this morning start todays game

Regarding what I said about Liverpool, although Sheffield Utd didn't batter Spurs they held their own & were unlucky not to draw, they haven't the squad to rest a lot of players & their players will definitely be more up for weds game against Spurs than todays game away to Preston, also on paper PNE just shade SU

ArkRoyal ArkRoyal we are highly unlikely to finish in top4 so FA Cup & League Cup are our best chance of silverware, losing to Leicester reserves is honestly a disgrace.
In an earlier post I wrote about PML, the reverse of that is PMU = POSITIVE MENTAL UPLIFT where you come away with an undeserved win, gives you confidence in your next game, majority of Spurs wins this season have been undeserved but we always play as if we've got PMT

What I wrote about Liverpool & PML earlier was/is obselete because once they knew the results of the earlier games their mental attitudes would've changed with them thinking this years FA Cup suddenly got a lot easier. Although I was right with them not winning it should have been a no bet under the pml/pmu stipulations.
I don't normally bet on football but 1st impressions are its easier than betting on horses(famous last words)

Looking forward to your football tips Larry Larry
As with all sports a large dollop of luck is required as well, but your thought processes were going against the general grain today which could generate some good longer term value

D djb38 my quip about football being easy was a joke, but we do get a lot more info about football than we ever do about racing. We know when someone is injured or coming back from injury, we know if someone's unhappy, we know when players/managers are under stress, we never fully know the well being of horses or even jockeys.
West Ham & Arsenal after todays results will be even more pumped up for a win plus the fact they're playing teams that are fighting for promotion & against relegation. Aston Villa & Bournemouth I cant fathom, neither of them really want a cup run but it would benefit Villa more than Bournemouth. I would say West Ham will put a strong side out & avoid defeat, although Bristol will put up a good fight, Arsenal will win whatever side they put out & AV against B&BAFC has draw written all over it. This of course is dependant on whether Villa put a strong side out or not.
See easy ain't it now watch it all blow up in my face

Larry Larry you see you've gone all serious now and started tipping up the favoured teams. i liked it more when you gave the reasons why the favourite teams were going not going to win. why can't brighton and bristol take heart from recent results and believe that they can carry on the upsets?
it's good to see some footie discussions going on here. i'd be interested on your thoughts Larry Larry on my inplay stats thread btw
