Computer Issue

Just recently my computer won't display my favourites when I click on the icon.
The three dots won't display the settings either.
I have googled the problem with no joy , can anyone help.
I am using windows 10 and my system doesn't meet the requirements for windows 11.
Thanks

I'd think long and hard before I "upgraded" from Windows 10 to 11, if I were you, 11 being in my view a very poor iteration.

Why? Because the commands for almost all the actions I do frequently each day - copy, rename, delete etc - are on a secondary menu with 11. In 10, if one wants to copy, cut to move, or rename a folder or file, one click, the menu opens and one selects the command. With 11, after the first click one has to click on an option down the menu to display a secondary menu with the commands to which I've referred. Two clicks compared to one may seem trivial. But if like me you are using such commands dozens of times a day, almost every day, it is both tedious and wasteful of time.

Personally I have found no pluses with 11, and indeed have now removed it and done a fresh install of 10.

Microsoft are withdrawing support from 10 this autumn, but provided you have a decent anti virus programme, that shouldn't be a problem, and 10 has been around long enough for the rough edges to have long ago been smoothed.

Hopefully Windows 12, which I think is due next year, will be better than 11.

I have not changed as yet because W10 works for me and i like it. Gates is taking the piddle by attempting to force people into " upgrading " to W11 and i hope it bites him in the bum. !

The commands have NOT been removed from the first menu that opens when you 'right click' but they no longer appear as words but instead icons on top/bottom of menu.

Sorry , should have mentioned I'm using edge.
I am aware of the shortcut , but this made no difference to those sites further down the list which are still inaccessible.
Thanks TheBluesBrother TheBluesBrother
If your Microsoft Edge isn't showing your favorites, it's likely because the "Favorites Bar" is hidden in your settings; to fix this, go to Settings > Appearance > Customize toolbar and ensure "Show favorites bar" is set to "Always" or "Only on new tabs" depending on your preference.

StuartH StuartH I tried that , as that is one thing suggested when googling the problem.
It also suggests reinstalling Edge , I didn't bother with this as someone else with the same issue said it didn't resolve it.

There was two ways to go into it right click ... three dots it comes up customize toolbar when you hit that it auto comes up in appearance and make sure fav on its differant .

or better way to say it is hit settings where it says show fav button never. mine is set at never below that you have show what buttons show in toolbar 4 down is fav make sure is on.

Update on this. The issues were caused by my wireless keyboard. I don't know how or why , but having bought a new one everything is fine.
