C'mon Leeds!

If Spurs survive, they might be booked for a 17th place for the third time in a row next season?
If they do survive, keep de Zebra and have a proper shake-up in the summer, we could be looking at a revitalised team and a tougher nut to crack. A lot of if's in the meantime, though.

Sunderland, probably have over performed and it might serve as a negative next season. They recruited reasonably well.

Unfortunately I think Spurs will survive which is a shame as I have a soft spot for WHam, boys of 66 and all that. The truth is they’re both in a relegation spot and only have themselves to blame. Both have better squads than Leeds but we worked harder and deserved to survive. We need to build on that and that costs money in this league. Over to you Thrifty9ers.
Some good points, M Monty

I think we have a lot to play for - finishing one spot higher in the league puts us in great mental position and will be a major achievement for a team that only five weeks ago we were worried about not being good enough .

Let’s hope our “mid league team” standing will make us more attractive to prospective new signings and sponsors.

New season upon us - comes around quick I am still catching up on the World Cup - watched the qtr and semi finals in Malaga with a load of Spanish and Argentine exiles - different but good.
Anyway Leeds - we had spent well and are hoping for - What top 10 or better season ? . I will give way to other whites to fill the gaps -

Oh - found this podcast - The Square Ball on Utube worth a listen as you go about you daily business - I was in Montenegro this week and mention English Football and they all refer to how good Patrick Bamford is ?

To have such a profile , Surprised me at least

Yeh, listen to TSB most of the time.

Transfer wise, we have done reasonably well. The major concern is finding a replacement for 2nd goalie if Perri moves on.

DF is the longest surviving manager and it is a surprise, but whilst I'm no fan of his style of football, we have to accept that we are not the team that we used to be, nor would like to be and chasing the dream we have had some very dodgy managers. Farke has brought stability and for that he deserves to keep his job. However, if we do start to challenge the top 6 and it's a very big if because the top teams are well away from us at the moment (although today's Hull performance must give us hope) it will be interesting to see if the owners stick with him. By definition, if he's got us near the top 6 he's become a top manager. On the other hand, if he doesn't start to challenge then they will be looking round and the whole thing starts again. This is all brought about because of the massive spend that the elite are able to accomplish. Anyway, we are Leeds and we keep supporting them and living in hope. Here's to getting a decent start today - it's not beyond us.

Eddie Howe is a free agent, M Monty :) . Looks like our club is going to overlook that opportunity once again!

Good to get the 3pts, however, but I didn't see much improvement in quality of play and Forest, who I think are the benchmark for us this season, were unlucky with some of their attempts on goal.

Early days, though.

I thought Brentford were the dominant side at the start and the stat's said a goal was coming.

We became more attacking when James came on and the equaliser was not long following. Either him or Gnonto as a starting winger - Okafor is too ploddy at the moment.

Agree, wasn't surprised when Brentford scored. Second half, much better.

On xG, Leeds goals on target were better quality. If Brentford had nicked a 2nd before HT, different story.

Looks as though our new signing had the best game. Dom Cal-L on the score sheet is always a good sign.

Taking the draw with a sigh of relief - don’t think we deserved any more than 1pt - the chat after was all about not hooking players in 1st half to preserve manager player relations ? If you are not performing get pulled with grace and accept the lesson. I wonder if their wages were somehow linked to the half and full time players stats, would it would improve enthusiasm - I remember Eddy Gray saying if you are playing well at least run interference .

We got out of jail there. Brentford are a very good team. Before the game at Elland Road I fancied our chances. From whatI saw yesterday we’re short on class and lack leadership. Oh for a Gordon Strachan. There’s no one with his desire and influence about today.

Relegation market hotting up nicely... (no sign of Leeds on that list).

Man City could get relegated automatically the way things are going....
