Like you, T Tufnel, I am not betting in the 4.45, though we differ on how we got to the same conclusion.

Mae Amor is, in my view, the VDW class/form horse, but with the obvious weaknesses in her profile, the higher ability-rated Aberama Gold who might well come back to form, and three more or less equally ability-rated "form" horses not too far down the ability ratings ranking (Alfa Whiteburd, Uppercase and The Good Biscuit,), I am sure she is a class/form horse who would have been within the >80% VDW would have left.
Yes, I kind of sidestepped that horse. And I can see why you would have had her as a form horse, just not sure why you didn't see Aberama Gold as a form horse too and hence the C/F.

I messed this race up though. Quite why I downgraded Alfa Whiteburd's form confirmation is a bit baffling. He'd won last two races as fav including a higher class race than today's with 10-0. And in his 3rd last race he was a close 2nd giving 2lb to the fav.

No harm done as I didn't bet, but also my logic that TGB was likely to win despite stating the 8lb turn around with AG is just pretty dumb on my part too.

To make matters worse I had a fairly large bet on the winner in his last race when he looked a good thing a few weeks back. Watching him win easily again was a little galling especially as my only bet of the day was a so unlucky 2nd.

View attachment 170211Do you not see this?? R rave154 When you click the envelope?

I don't know the exact forum rules, Sullybomb Sullybomb, but I wonder if the ability to start a conversation is made available at the Admin's discretion, a bit like access to the Inner Sanctum. I note that R rave154's username is blue, which I seem to recall means no IS access. So perhaps it also means no access to private conversations.

It is easy , for instance I have just clicked on you name from your last post and this box appears

I wanted to PM you I just click “Start Conversation” (By the way I don’t want to start a conversation with, so did not press the button)

Yes Chesham Chesham, but that's you to him. He may not have permission to initiate the conversation yet. Perhaps, R rave154, ask ArkRoyal ArkRoyal whether you have (or can have) access.

thanks for your answers everyone, but i do not see " start convo" whatever i click on, i think maybe BC might be right

even when i click on arkroyals name.... still no " start convo"
I tagged him in my post to you R rave154, so he'll probably pop his head in. Remember, it is the VDW forum, so most sensible contributors, like ArkRoyal ArkRoyal, probably don't visit here very often.

re Aberama Gold, it is worth considering how VDW described Lucky Vane (Righthand Man race) and Burrough Hill Lad (Wayward Lad race). He did not say they were out of form, just that for him they did not reach his requirements for "form" horse status. (That is why, whenever I remember, I put "form" in inverted comas; in a VDW context it is a very particular attribution and sometimes quite at odds with what most would quite reasonably think - especially when as happens sometimes, a lto winner is not a "form" horse.

Gaye Chance and Ekbalco offer an additional nuance, the former more commonly encountered than the latter, who was likely as much of a "one off" as in a different context was Rivage Bleu (who, other than being an extraordinary rare occurrance, has no relevance to the issue of "form" status). But the circumstances applying to both Ekbalco and Rivage Bleu are so rare as to be unlikely ever to come our way.

CLick on a name and take screen shot Then post it on this thread so we can see what you are seeing
