CHELTENHAM 2023

Mine aren't necessarily tips, I prefer outsiders with big odds, but I try to stick with horses that I've seen have a good run myself, and I will back them at shorter odds sometimes. Who are your top tips, punts, bankers etc. for Cheltenham 2023? Who are you backing for no other reason than you like the horse? Who's going to win the Prestbury Cup?

Day 1
Supreme Novices - I have a Marine Nationale + Good Land double so Marine Nationale for me, but I also like Tahmuras to get GB going
Arkle - I think Jonbon but too short, so Final Orders if he runs here
Ultima - I wanted Corach Rambler but now it's favourite not sure, so Fontaine Collonges, Tea Clipper or Oscar Elite
Champion Hurdle - Constitution Hill (No Bet)
Mares Hurdle - Love Envoi
Boodles - Sir Allen
National Hunt Chase - Gaillard Du Mesnil probably wins but Minella Crooner (Minella themed trixie)

Day 2
Ballymore - Good Land
Brown Advisory - Sir Gerhard if he runs here
Coral Cup - HMS Seahorse
Champion Chase - Edwardstone wins but too short, so Funambule Sivola
Cross Country Chase - Back On The Lash
Grand Annual - Final Orders if he runs here, or Dads Lad same
Champion Bumper - Encanto Bruno

Day 3
Turners - Mighty Potter wins but too short, so Stage Star if he runs here
Pertemps - Wakool or An Tailliur
Ryaniar - Shishkin wins but too short, so Janidil
Stayers - Dashel Drasher or Paisley park if they run, love those horses
Plate - Warlord or Dads Lad if he runs here
Mares Novice - Luccia wins but too short, Princess Zoe
Kim Muir - Musical Slave or Chambard, something shit with big odds

Day 4
Triumph - Lossiemouth probably, but Comfort Zone bet
County Hurdle - Aucunrisque, or maybe Sharjah or Fil Dor if they run here
Albert Bartlett - Corbetts Cross depending on odds, or Favori De Champdou or Princess Zoe if they run here
Gold Cup - Galopin wins but punt on Ahoy Senor, and Minella Indo (for my Minella themed trixie)
Foxhunters - Winged Leader or Rocky's Howya
Mares Chase - Jeremys Flame or Elimay
Martin Pipe - Three Card Brag, Favori De Champdou or Benson if they run here

Surprised that no one has joined in with this thread. looks like no one on the OS can be bothered to contribute.

Yes the Cleeve Hurdle is a good trial for the Stayers but one of the best trials is the race itself.

Looking at 2000 to now, runners that have ran in a trial race and then gone on to run in the next instance of the Stayers, aggregated up , then showing which runners today ran in the last run of the trial race and their finishing position I get this.
As such I think last years winner Flooring Porter is worth a look

Posted where? If it was on a normal part of the forum fine if it was in your private area then it's half way to after timing.
I've had a few big priced ones come up this week on my public twatter feed but I don't put them on here after the event

Unlike you, I’m not on a Public or Private Twitter Feed amd only post on this forum. The Post was made last night on this forum and read by a number of Forum Members. Two of the horse named in last nights post were in the Race that was covered by me on this thread. You also made a contribution and Spireite Spireite did also did so. The method that I used for that race also applied to the other horses on the post made last night

If I did have a Public Twitter Feed, I certainly would not copy from that feed to this Forum. I would also not try to direct members from this forum to a Public Twitter feed if I did have one,

Do you have a problem with me ???

You didn't answer the question did you post it in your private area or the normal forum? If the former then semi after timing imo, you may feel different, that's fine , everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint, nor do they have to adjust it to suit it anyone else.

No but are the one man advertising arm for HRB when responding to people's posts which does amuse me. However HRB is not free unlike public open websites such as twatter where I post sometimes. So if want to mention twitter I will

Careful with the bold text, next you'll be going all caps and getting your gentlemen's abdominal support out of shape

LOL I have not mentioned HRB in the post. Yes the post with the selections was posted on a restricted area of the Forum and The Hod is also a restricted area.

ArkRoyal ArkRoyal actually has a Thread which give a link for a free trial of HRB and also one for Imform. Do have the same problem with ArkRoyal ArkRoyal doing that. The other Moderator dave58 dave58 also often mentions that all his systems are from HRB, do you have a problem with him mentioning g HRB

ArkRoyal ArkRoyal is also running a thread using a Inform System

NigelRG NigelRG has his own thread dedicated to HRB and Posts everyday on it, do you have a problem with him, surely he must also be considered as you put it “the one man advertising arm for HRB”

It does appear that I have been the only one singled out by you.

As for half aftertiming that is a new one on me . If a post on this Forum was made last night it is not aftertiming.

I ask again do you have a personal problem with me Or are you frustrated that your own web site is not mentioned very much on this Forum.

Threads etc specifically about HRB , Proform , Inform or whatever is one thing and is fine for those interested, I couldn't care less, but unlike the others your general responses to anyone in any thread revolve around HRB/screenshots of etc, it just gets boring.

Posting in your private area then when they win posting them in the public area is just weak as far as I'm concerned and that's all there is to it. I don't go posting in the Hod or wherever and then repost the winners in the public area.

But you go ahead and keep doing both if it keeps you happy I guess

You're no more than a pseudonym on a racing forum, so that's hardly relevant enough for to have personal opinions

What a great festival again, I love it, and I'm already saving my free bets for next year. I'm going to try and save them all up so I have 50 £5 free bets, plus save £5-£10 of what I put in each week for Cheltenham 2024, I'm going big next year.

I did quite well to be fair, but I was actually £36 down over the festival, Good Land let me down 1st race on Day 2 for a huge double. If Love Envoi had beat Honeysuckle Day 1 I'd have won loads, then Mighty Potter and Shishkin let me down on my favourites accumulator for 8k, Galopon Des Champs would have brought that bet home for me if they'd have won. Also had a big E/W single on Dashel Drasher, that nearly won me loads too, and was still a good return for placing, ah well, it was fun.

Johnny Dineen and David Jennings got 1 winner between them with all their tips from Upping The Ante, it was 1-0 to Johnny Dineen, disgraceful. I also watched every other tipsters/preview show out there, and wrote down all the tips and placed bets, and every single pundit, tipster, talk show host out there was absolutely shit, they haven't got a clue, I got more winners than any of them.

My biggest tip is to completely ignore the tipsters, they haven't got a clue.

And if you ever hear that 'they're well handicapped', avoid them like the plague!

What next for Galopin Des Champs following the Cheltenham Gold Cup?
Here are the strongest and weakest target races in April for Gold Cup horses.
Will be interesting to see if Galopin Des Champs competes in the Punchestown Gold Cup Chase.
But I would not place any bets on those heading to the Irish National or the Sandown Gold Cup.
