La Cressonnière La Cressonnière ,

France-Galop was giving the going as bon (good), with a penetrometre reading of 3,2. Based on the following table, it's well above a leger (firm) going:
1,0 à 1,9 -> sec Hard
2,0 à 2,2 -> tres leger Very Firm
2,3 à 2,7 -> leger Firm
2,8 à 2,9 -> bon-leger Good to Firm
3,0 à 3,2 -> bon Good
bon a bon-souple Good to Yielding
3,3 à 3,4 -> bon-souple Good to Yielding
bon-souple a souple Good to Yielding
assez souple Yielding
3,5 à 3,7 -> souple Yielding
souple a tres souple Yielding to Soft
3,8 à 4,1 -> tres souple Yielding to Soft
tres souple a collant Yielding to Soft
tres souple a lourd Yielding to Heavy
4,2 à 4,5 -> collant Soft
collant a lourd Soft to Heavy
4,6 à 5,0 -> lourd Heavy
lourd a tres lourd Heavy to Very Heavy
5,1 à 5,5 -> tres lourd Very Heavy
5,6 et + -> profond Deep

I'll leave it to TheBluesBrother TheBluesBrother to interpret the times for a going allowance.

The official going on the day was not "good", as Claude Chalet once stated, the French clerks of the courses are under no obligation to return the true going allowances, had they done so, some trainers would have removed their horses from the meeting due to the very fast going conditions

This was the fastest going I can recall in France, I agree with Dave Edwards "Top Speed" assessment of firmx, here in the UK we used to refer to this going description as "hard"

I used the RP standard times:

The speed figure for Tennessee Song should read 66, I can't add up...
