I realise this is all very basic stuff , but for some reason I just can't find the information online - the basic list as noted in the title above , in years bygone readily available in the Racing and Football Outlook Annual (alas no more ). Seems to be anything except what I'm looking for. Can someone point me in the right direction please ?

Probably the run to form% is a better option.
NH
Joseph O’Brien was top 68%
Willie Mullins 67%
Sam Thomas 64%
Paul Nicholls 61%
Harry Derham 61% and a £10 profit backing Blindly

Flat 50 runners or more

Adiien O’Brien 73%
Ralph Beckett 67%
P Toumey 67%
Charlie Appleby 67%

The only one of the top ten who made a profit was 8th place Her Lyon’s 66% and £22 profit backed blindly

Just having a Quick Look at those statistics James Owen very good 78% of the horses he runs getting a win, miles ahead of anyone significant in the table, continued on the jumps this season again an outlier compared with other trainers, maybe his horses will offer less value than last season as his name becomes more prominent, but very impressive P&L and overall stats last season.

Many thanks for your help Chesham Chesham - interesting suggestion you are making there - shall investigate further.

your welcome Pitmatic Pitmatic , I like the TF approach and also you can visu if a Trainer is starting to go on an upward or downward trajectory based in their own Average

An example is Harry Derham one of 3 hot trainers in the first Race at Newbury

This link explains, TF is good value for just under £1 per day as there are plenty of features as well as what they are known for with regards Race Cards and Analysis
