Yes Im in that section posting lol I meant was there any active discussions anywhere it all seems to have gone quite.I realise this subject does this from time to time but was hoping that there was something I could join in with until I have made enough contributions to access the IS as this is the only place I am aware of that may still have an ongoing discussion at present,Ive checked all the old haunts and all is quite on the western front as it were.

Been thinking about this on my way to work.
Im not sure what I can contribute if not VDW as this really is the only thing I have an interest in.
That being said I can also see where Bob is coming from as pretty much evrything that has been discussed in recent years has found its way in to a 'Rochdale' style package.
When VDW was discussed origionally it would have been individuals and very small groups with limited access so any ground made was earnt the hardest way of all,any discoveries would have been highly valued and certainly not shared on mass.
Many years later along came Lee,Guest and others who had thier discussions courtesy of the internet,all of a sudden access to information had taken a massive leap forward and although a good thing in one respect it also came with drawbacks.Reading certain posts and in particular certain posters from old threads shows they became aware of this so started to bury the significant posts under pages and pages of bickering and other nonsense,as well as deleating many.
Next up was us lot.We started to collect all the relevant material in one place,we did this to aid our ability to research but,inadvertantly we also made the rights bits more obvious to the untrained eye.All of a sudden being in the right place at the right time could lead someone to accessing large amounts of anothers research with little to no effort.When there is no effort there is little understanding of the value of that knowledge.

Hi DBMB I like your above post but while i would agree your quote "When there is no effort then there is little understanding of the value of that knowledge" I would suggest that if you chose to share same then do so in plain English not riddles.VDW used the latter form of presentation and what did this achieve.? A loss of interest to the point whereby he felt the need to then create G Hall and start congratulating himself.?
When there is much effort by many which still equals little understanding then they find themselves questioning the motives and genuineness of the writer and this will be the cause of negative comment and legacy.
I would love to see a VDW "Giant" who claims to think and work as VDW intended set out the races this Saturday that VDW would have looked at in the same way as per his examples and explain which would be backed and why (before the off).Perhaps i have been looking on the wrong forums but i have yet to see this done and feel the need to ask why not.? To do so would still keep hard earned knowledge covert if that is the wish but might at least give some inspiration to the many who still do not understand to continue attempting to understand why they do not understand.?
I have a good knowledge of horse racing and i am not lazy so does my failure to understand VDW mean i am thick.? If so i suspect there will be many like myself crushing the toes of these Giants.

I stand to be corrected but I believe that this is what Bob was getting at.When there is plain discussion in laymans terms so we can all understand it is copy/pasted straight in to a PDF for £X .
As to your third paragraph....me too but,that will never happen.Partly due to the above.
For those that are struggling I personally believe Nessie(Gummy member)was correct that the truth is buried under a 1000 posts,it is just not in anyones interest to discuss it but, then what would I know I never got past Temprament lol.

If VDW is your main interest there is nothing stopping you contributing your thoughts when
mtoto posts his analysis most Saturdays on his Blog. The only thread on the Inner sanctum is VDW Race Of The Day and only me posting on that at the moment and just a selection, no analysis though.
Most of the time I post pre race selections on non VDW threads, as many different methods lead to same conclusion and it does not have to be particularly anything that I learnt from studying VDW.
Most members will be giving their pre race view or analysis on various races. The same components as VDW discussed are evident except they are usually explained in plain english, namely Form -Class- Capability- Probability and of course Hard Work as some of the analysis, especially from

If it is Just VDW that you want then I think that you are missing out on some outstanding contributions from those who have no interest in VDW, but still are very successful. They explain why it is a selection so easy to look at their methods and appreciate all aspects of Race Horse Selection.

With respect this is the bit i still do not get.When VDW showed his post race examples he explained why the winners had been backed but most followers still did not understand how to make the thinking work for the future.So there's nothing to be sold but plenty which could be proved yet seldom appears to be.?

The selections are but very 'loose',I am still missing out some elements that I used previously when achieving my best runs.
The only reason I am in to VDW is the unknown element,I find investigation and others peoples ideas intriging but as I have said before I dont back my selections and never have,so have no interest in others methods of showing a profit if not VDW.
I am also working on the The Olga Lilian Saga as well,although I am yet to see or enter discussion on this subject publicly.Now this one is a real headache lol.

Well said and if i feel i have any worthwhile thoughts on said race then i will be pleased to contribute my thinking hopefully in a way that anyone can understand and follow should they wish to.Will i then get fame at last via E bay ?........I think not.!.....Buyer beware.
