Premier Tips Review

Hello again, we are getting a bit tired of saying it now, but it’s not going our way at the moment, we must admit to “counting our money” when Cardiff equalised on Sunday, our prediction of how City will struggle without Kompany came back to haunt us!

Anyway 2 bets tonight both 3 point selections. Firstly a both to score treble
AC Milan v PSV Eindhoven,
Watford v Bournemouth and
Barcelona v Atletico Madrid.

ALL BETS LOST

Plenty left in this Champions League qualifier after a 1 1 first leg. Since that game PSV have been on fire winning 3 games, scoring 11 and conceding none. By contrast Milan have played just once this season and lost against one of the lesser sides (Verona). The Dutch side may fancy this and are good value for a goal, I’ve got a sneak for another draw and wouldn’t even rule out a 2 2 and PSV to go through on away goals, however we do think both to score is a good selection whatever the outcome.
Watford played Bournemouth in the league a few weeks back and won 6 1. It may not be a repeat but Watford have scored 14 in 5 this season. They seemed up for the competition in the last round with a good 3 1 win last time out against Bristol Rovers. Bournemouth have had a funny start to the season, won 3 out of 3 at home and lost both away, 6 1 as we said then 5 1 at Huddersfield on Saturday, at least they have scored! Both to score looks a very good bet. (the score and win market is also tempting with Watford at 12/5.)
Barca take on Atletico in the second leg of their “community shield” it’s wide open at 1 1. no hint of it not being taken seriously in a feisty affair that saw 8 yellow cards so expect another competetive game. The teams sit 1 and 2 in the league both having scored 8 in 2 games! Barca’s only goal against so far was in the first leg of this. Looks a good bet for both to score (please see next bet)
Treble pays 9/2 on Betfred Bonus Goals Galore red coupon.

Next bet is David Villa to score anytime 7/2 (LOST) again with Betfred.
We were kicking ourselves last week after highlighting Villa as a likely scorer and 14 minutes in he scored the first goal at a tasty 6/1! For exactly the same reasons we think he is a massive goal threat here, as we said above they have scored 9 in 3 this season and Villa will be relishing such an early return to the Nou Camp. The best available anytime scorer price seems to be with Betfred, where he is 9/1 for 1st goal, however they do not do each way goal scorers. Hills and Paddys do, however only offering 8/1 1st goal, and paying 1/3 odds 1st five scorers, in effect offering just over 5/2 on a “place”. We think the smart money is on the 7/2 anytime, but use your own discretion as to whether you want to go 1st goal scorer too. Our recorded selection is the 7/2 anntime scorer.

Hello again all and welcome to another weekend, some nice looking games in most divisions this weekend.

As a result we have picked 3 bets all 3 pointers.

Premier Pointers

Firstly a win double on Huddersfield 7/4 and Oxford 10/11 (Paddy Power any coupon).
(Both Lost)

Huddersfield have made an impressive start to the season after securing a last day survival last year. 4 wins and a draw in the last 5 (in league and cup) and scoring plenty of goals, 8 in the last 2. By contrast Barnsley have conceded 10 in their last 2 and sit at the foot of the table at this early stage. We have highlighted the threat of James Vaughan before on this service and he is in outstanding form, his
5 league goals are more than Barnsley have managed so far. OK so it’s a derby and they can be unpredictable but it’s hard to see another outcome and we think 7/4 is fantastic value (may be worthy of a single if you fancy it).

Oxford have made a great start and top League Two. Rochdale have played
3 away games this season (in league and cup) and lost them all 1 0, hard to see that record improving here. Oxford’s best wins have been away this season, but these teams met in Oxford’s final home game last season and they won 3 0. A home win at a nice price is our tip.

Double pays well over 4/1 (5.25 on decimal scale.)

Next over 2 goals on Peterborough v Crawley 8/13 and Shrewsbury v Coventry 4/5.
(Both Lost)

Premier Pointers

Peterborough have scored a staggering 22 in their last 5 outings, and conceded 4, so they’re averaging over 5 a game! Crawleys 5 games have seen 24 goals and you have to go back to January for the last time they didn’t score on the road. There are no prizes for guessing why this selection jumped out at us!

All 5 of Coventry’s games have seen 4 goals or more and they themselves have scored 13 in 3 including a 4 4 and a 5 4 in the last 3 weeks.
Shrewsbury can’t match such dizzy heights, but 3 of their last 4 games have had 3 or more, and they won the corresponding fixture 4 1 last season. It’s certainly going to be an entertaining ride for Coventry this season, on and off the pitch. The score here could be anything, but given recent form you have to fancy goals.

Double pays just under 2/1 (1.91 on decimal scale).

Finally a both to score treble.

Premier Pointers

Blackpool v Watford (L), Doncaster v Bournemouth (L)and Gillingham v Bristol City (W).

Blackpool have made a good start and are one of four teams at the top on
10 points. They have won a few 1 0 this season, but you feel Watford’s attacking style will stretch that record. 7 goals in 3 away so far this season for Watford. Both sides are unbeaten so far and that may be the case after the game, a draw looks a possibility. Both games last season saw both scoring (2 2 and 2 1), expect a good game and a good advert for the Championship and both to score looks a nice pick.

Bournemouth have lost 3 out of 3 away so far, they face a Doncaster side who have had a very tough start. They’ll probably still be fuming over the decision to abandon last weeks game at Charlton when they led 3 1.
If you count that game they have had no problem scoring, having done so in 6 out of 6 this season. Many experts say that these 2 will be in a relegation scrap, but have both made ok starts. Bournemouth have shipped
11 in just 2 league games, but at least have scored in both! Not easy to call but both to score looks a solid option to us.

Bristol City have surprised most pundits by their poor start. They have scored 2 or more in 5 out of 6 games however and have picked up a couple of wins in the Capital One Cup. They may have one eye on a midweek derby with Bristol Rovers in the football League Trophy as it’s a rarity they meet these days and it is a fierce rivalry. Likewise Gillingham have stuttered at the start of this season and are also winless in the league. They have at least drawn the last 2 and scored in each. The sides have already met in the cup, with City winning 2 0, I fancy City could edge it again but think they will concede, so both to score is our prefered choice.

One bet today, 3 point selection,
Both teams to score treble
Rotherham v Sheffield Utd W
Burton v Oxford L
Luton v Grimsby L

Premier Pointers
Sheffield united have stuttered in the last few games and have slipped down the table, but the new proposed “substantial investment” deal has now been finalised amd maybe they can get back to the job in hand. Rotherham are unbeaten in 5 league games and seem to have adapted to life in League One very nicely. They have had a few draws so far, a 2 2 and a 3 3 and you wouldn’t rule out this one being another one. It’s a local Yorkshire derby too and that adds to the spice and derbies are often close affairs, we fancy both to score here.
Burton and Oxford sit 2nd and 3rd in League Two, on level points. so it points to a close game. Both sides have scored in every league game so far and in fact all 5 of Oxford’s games have also seen them concede, should be a good and very evenly matched game. Burton won 4 0 when the teams met at a similar time last year and you really can’t see a repeat of that, both to score certainly takes our fancy.
Luton haven’t quite got going this season and for a fancied side they have found themselves struggling to get out of first gear. They are however unbeaten since the first day and have kept 4 clean sheets in 5 games, that’s a surprise as they were involved in big scoring games a lot last season. Grimsby are also one of the fancied sides and have made a decent start, they have won 2 out of 3 on the road. This is a televised teatime game and maybe Sky expect both sides season’s to take off. The teams met in Luton’s final home game last season back in april and it ended 1 1 then, a draw wouldn’t be a huge surprise now but both to score looks good to us.

Hello again all, and it’s nice to get into the season now, with the transfer window shut and after the international break, many people feel the season starts now.

A few bets today starting with a win double on Aston Villa 5/4 and Inverness 21/20 (Paddy power). 3 point selection

Premier Pointers

Villa have come through a very difficult start in pretty good shape, a great win v Arsenal and unlucky not to get something against Chelsea and Liverpool. Newcastle have looked a bit disjointed and you get the feeling it’s going to be a tricky season at St James on and off the field. Newcastle struggle to score, maybe Loic Remy will add a few but it was a disappointing transfer window for the one time big spenders. Benteke always look likely to score and despite the fact that Newcastle have actually won here the last two years we have to fancy villa’s pace and power up front will cause problems to Newcastle and think 5/4 is a good price.

Inverness still sit on top of the table and the only points they have dropped were away at Celtic, so that may even be looked upon as points won. That was in fact the only game in which they have conceded as their 4 wins have all been to nil. Kilmarnock are the opposite, yet to win in 5 attempts and only managed one goal in 3 home games so far, we are very drawn to a price of better than even money.

Double pays over 7/2 (4.61 on decimal scale.)BET LOST

Next an over 2 goals treble on (another 3 point selection)

Watford v Charlton 8/11, Bristol City v Peterborogh 8/13 and Cheltenham v Oxford Evs.

On Betfred Over Under 2.5 Green coupon

Premier Pointers

All but one of Charlton’s 7 games (even including an abandment) have seen over 2 goals, and they’ll be in confident mood after last weeks great win over Leicester. Watford are known for their entertaining approach and often feature in high scoring games. they were on a decent run until last weeks defeat at Blackpool. Unbeaten in 3 so far at home and scored 9 in those 3, and just for the record the result when last these two met back in January, Watford 3 Charlton 4.

In just 7 games this season Peterborough have scored a 4, two 5s and a 6! Bristol City themselves have been involved in 6 games (from 8 played) with over 2 so far this season, including a remarkable 5 4 v Coventry. This was a Championship game last season and City won it 4 2 in December, goals have to be on the menu here you feel!

Oxford have won 3 out of 3 on the road and bagged 9 goals in doing so. Cheltenham have played 9 in all competition and those games have yielded 36 goals in total. the 5 home games have had 25 goals in them (in league and cup), pretty easy to see why this is our selection.

Treble pays over 9/2 (5.58 on decimal scale). BET LOST

Finally a selection that we have toyed with making a 3 point selection but have opted for a safe1 point bet.

Stoke at 9/1 on Paddy Power Weekend win & Both Score.BET LOST

Man City have never won a Premier League game at The Brittania, 4 draws and a loss. Add how much Mark Hughes would love to rub city’s nose in it for his less than friendly exit, this is not a game that city will relish! Stoke may have slightly changed their approach this season but if they watched City’s woeful defense of set pieces and balls into the box at Cardiff there’s going to be a return to what Stoke do best here you would think. not sure if kompany will make it, he is a massive loss and add in injuries now to Demichelis and Clichy, plus Richards classed as doubtful, their defense could be “make shift” at best. Stoke followed up that good performance loss at Anfield on day one with 3 straight wins in league and cup. being honest even just to win at 5/1 (Paddy Power) looks too big a price, but despite the frailties at the back you always expect them to score even if silva is out, so we had to go for the 9/1 Stoke win and both to score. Looks a very inviting price to us!

Peterbrough Score and Win 8/1 with Paddy Power ( midweek Both teams to score and Win Coupon in the shop)

Premier Pointers

As you may of known Paolo Di Canio was sacked as the managet of Sunderland after there woful start to the premiership season. I feel they are currently in disaray.
On the other hand Peterbrough are in great form especially after beating MK DONS 2.1 with 9 men.

As you know Peterbrough have been amonst the goals recently but do also concede goals. As you know Sunderland have been conceding to.
This is a great time for Peterbrough to play Sunderland. And feel this is a great bet and also a whopping price.

Hello again all, we are determined to end the month on a winning note and have picked a few bets today starting with an over 2 goals treble on

Swansea v Arsenal (17.30 ko) 4/5, Watford v Wigan 8/11 and Rotherham v Peterborough 4/6 On Betfred Over Under 2.5 coupon .

5 point selection

Well the Arsenal game hasn't kicked off yet but the treble is already down with the other 2 legs both losing bets -5Pts

Premier Pointers

Arsenal’s recent away form is outstanding and despite all the negative talk in the summer, they sit top of the league, with just 2 defeats in the last 21 league games. Swansea themselves have been excellent recently despite the poor start. They have been involved in 7 games with over 2 already this season and this looks set to be another.

Watford have scored more than anyone in the division but do concede a fair few. Wigan are always known for their high scoring games, this should be a very good entertaining game and you have to envisage goals.

Peterborough and Rotherham meet in a big game in League One, Peterborough are on blistering form away from home, unbeaten and scoring 14 in just 4 games. Rotherham are unbeaten at home and 4 from 5 have had over 2 goals (in league and cup), can seeing this being close and a 2 2 scoreline wouldn’t be a surprise, but whatever the outcome we fancy goals.

Treble pays around 21/5 (5.16 on decimal scale.)

Next a win and both to score on Oxford

Premier Pointers

Oxford have stuttered a bit in the last 2 games, but are still in good shape and you expext them to be in the mix come the end of the season. Harlepool have improved slightly and have hauled themselves off the bottom. they have though lost 3 at home already this season and when you add in Oxford’s away record of won 3 drawn 1 from 4 there does appear to be only one outcome, Oxford have conceded in all but one of those 4, so we will give Hartlepool a goal so to speak,

7/2 at Paddy Power is a good price and is a 3 point selection

Oxford win 3-1

Hello again all, here we go with a new month and to us the season seems to be taking a bit of shape. A couple of bets for you today.

First a both to score treble that is a 5 point selection.

Hull v Aston Villa L, Huddersfield v Watford W and Celtic v Motherwell L.

Premier Pointers

Not sure what price you would have got for Hull being above Man U after 6 games, but that is the reality. Fair play to them they have performed well and have only lost to chelsea and Man City so certainly no disgrace there. These 2 sit side by side in the table so a close game looks likely. Villa have had an incredibly difficult start but unlike some have chose not to moan and just got on with it. They have bounced back well from 3 defeats by getting back to back wins and showed great spirit to beat city last week. Hull don’t score too many but are unbeaten at home so this should be a close game, a score draw may not be that much of a surprise.

If you want to see a good game of football then Huddersfield v Watford jumps out as a fixture that should fit the bill. Huddersfield have performed well following their last day escape. they are unbeaten in 5 (4 draws) and in James Vaughan they have a striker who looks like he will score in every game! Watford lost in midweek and failed to score for only the 2nd time in 13 games this season. Can’t imagine they’ll go two without a goal as they have scored plenty so far this season. Looks a near certainty for both to score to us!

Celtic had a habit of being a bit flat after big European nights last season. Motherwell are on a good run and sit only one place behind Celtic ( 6/1to win did tempt us for a Well win). They have scored in their last 6 games and will fancy getting something from the game. In fact they have won their last two games against Celtic so you expect them to score when you consider Celtic’s potential Barca hangover.

Treble pays 9/2 on Betfred Goals Galore Bonus (Red coupon) LOST

Here’s a good one for you at a one point punt. Everton to beat Man City L at a crazy 10/1!! It’s a special from Paddy power on line. Slight catch you have to open an account and it’s a £10 max bet but it’s a whopping price. Please note you have to log on to Evertonfc.com and follow the link that way, it’s not advertised on Paddys site direct. Not sure if you may even get a free matched bet as a new client but have a look, there’s usually something. Let’s remember Everton have a brilliant record there and are actually above them in the league. City’s defense looks poor and Everton have scored 3 in their last 2 league games. You can’t put the mortgage on it with a max tenner bet but, being honest 10/1 is a silly price.

First a win treble that is a 5 point selection. L

Oxford 8/11, Cambridge Evs and Hamilton 10/11 (Hills)

Premier Pointers

Oxford have hit a very surprising slump of late and have lost their last 2 at home. However they still remain 4th in the table and look to be at least play off contenders. Their form prior to that was very good and they were scoring a few. Their best results are actually away from home, but against a Northampton side who sit next to bottom you think that this represents a great opportunity to bounce back.

Cambridge are still unbeaten in the conference and already have a massive 7 point lead at the top. They travel to a Chester side with only one win from 7 at home. Even money looks a very good price to us. Cambridge have only conceded 6 in 13 games and often win by small margins, can easily see this adding to that tally as a 1 or 2 nil victory looks a good option.

Hamilton have lost just once this season (in the league) and top the Scottish Championship. Morton are bottom and have won just one. no prizes why we picked this as an away win, 10/11 seems a generous price too.

Treble pays over 11/2 (6.59 on decimal scale)

Next a 3 point selection on Peterborough to win and both teams to score. 11/4 with most providers. L

Premier Pointers

A brilliant away record so far, 4 wins and a draw and scored 15 in the 5 games sees Posh sitting second in the table. They have won their last 3 away to nil so you think that sequence will end, particlurly as Port Vale have scored 8 in 5 home games (conceding the same amount). should be a decent game and you’d expect a few goals. 11/4 for our selection looks tempting to us.

Premier Punt for 1 point..... L

It probably makes sense to throw a four fold on, with Peterborough at evens added to the above treble, we have tipped them to win so a couple of quid on a 4 fold could make it a good day.

The 4 fold would pay over 12/1 (13.18 on decimal scale)

We have 3 bets today, all 3 point selections.

First a win treble
Man City, 7/10 Orient 21/20 Oxford Evs (Paddy Power)

Oxford drew bet lost

Premier Pointers

City have struggled in a few games away and have conceded too many goals (losing 3 2 twice already away from home). Hard to imagine West Ham scoring 3 though, they’ve only managed 7 all season and that’s their main problem, despite that stunning 3 0 win at Tottenham. Already at this early stage city can’t afford to slip up again and you fancy them to be too strong for the Hammers. kompany is still out so we were tempted by the score and win but even the 7/10 price looks a nice bet.

Orient haven’t lost away, Tranmere haven’t won at home (both from 5). You almost hate games like this, but we can’t see any reason not to back the league Leaders at a very nice price. Tranmere did get a good win away at Bradford last week, but Orient’s excellent away form looks set to continue and over evens looks too good to miss.

Oxford have performed very well away despite a few hiccups at home. they score plenty on the road (14 in just 5 games) and will fancy this at bottom placed Accrington who have just one point from 5 at home, again an even money looks a cracking price to us.

Treble pays just on 6/1 (6.97 on decimal scale)

Next a both teams to score treble

Newcastle v Liverpool, Watford v Derby and Wolves v Coventry

Treble Won

Premier Pointers

There hasn’t been a nil nil between these two since 1974, and that stat will almost certainly be in tact come 2.45. Liverpool battered them 6 0 last time here, and whilst you don’t see a repeat you wouldn’t be surprised to see plenty of goals. Liverpool have the most potent strike force in the league and Newcastle can be a bit generous at the back, but in Cisse, Remy, Cabaye and Ben Arfa they possess a genuine threat. there’s been a few close games at st James so far but you expect a very open flowing game today, both to score looks a very good bet.

No team in the top 2 divisions has scored more away than Derby (12 in just 5 games), and no team in those divisions has scored more overall than Watford (22 in 11). sometimes a game just screams goals at you and this is one of them.

Wolves have scored 2 or more in all 5 home games so far. Coventry are probably the most entertaining team in the league their 11 games this season have seen an incredible 46 goals (an average of over 4 per game). This simply can’t be nil nil!

Treble pays over 3/1 (3.22 on decimal scale) William Hill Both Teams To Score Blue Coupon

Finally James Vaughan each way to be 1st goal scorer (Leicester v Huddersfield) Bet Lost

6/1 Paddy Power

We have said many times on here how much we rate James Vaughan, he is a striker in great form. As an Evertonian we have a massive soft spot for “our boy” who still holds the record for the youngest ever Premier League scorer. Plagued by some serious injuries you wonder where his career may have been without them. It’s great to see him fit and looking like a top striker, still only 25 it wouldn’t be a shock to see some Premier League scouts watching him IF he stays fit. He did have a brief spell on loan at Leicester so that always adds a bit of spice. 6/1 each way means you get 1/3 odds if he scores any of the first 5 goals, looks a tempter to us.
