Useful for Richard Fahey, winning five times the latest of which was a 7f handicap in Qatar in November 2024; makes his debut for his new yard (gelded in the meantime) and, like his stablemate The Strikin Viking, whether he is on a favourable mark remains to be seen; the choice of James Doyle, though, so interesting to see what the market says.

The Leading Contenders

1. The Class Standard: Goodie Two Shoes (Stall 4)

  • The Verdict: The standout profile in the lineup. She brings an outstanding PRB² of 71.95% alongside a massive master performance rating (OR 108 / RPR 113). Proven under these conditions and bringing top-class pattern form into the race, she sets a formidable standard for the rest of the field to aim at.
  • Tactical Advantage: Benefiting from an ideal middle-low draw in stall 4, jockey J M Sheridan can track her stable companion smoothly from a close-up position (TC). Her robust history shows she is perfectly suited to latch onto the primary pace before putting her superior class to use down the straight.

2. The Primary Challenger: Perfect Your Craft (Stall 8)

  • The Verdict: The main danger. She comes alive in tracking scenarios and carries an excellent, tight average lengths beaten metric of 3.21, paired with a strong PRB² of 59.98%. Her recent efforts at the highest level suggest she is primed to thrive now that she steps back up to this optimal 1m6f trip.
  • Tactical Advantage: Despite drawing wider out in stall 8, rider W J Lee can use her natural early tactical speed to cross smoothly into a tracking position (TC). If the lone leader stops or tries to slow the pace down too dramatically, her progressive profile makes her the most immediate threat to pounce late.

3. The Bouncing-Back Threat: Floresta (Stall 5)

  • The Verdict: The value option. She has shown high-class ability at this exact distance in the past, flashing a peak RPR of 111 and an OR+RPR of 211 that places her right near the ceiling of this race's competitive framework.
  • Tactical Advantage: Settling in stall 5, Ben Coen can comfortably settle her into a midfield tracking slot (MD) just behind the primary speed line. If the race transforms into an optimal late-finishing test down the center of the track, she has the raw figures to pick up a major piece of the prize money.

The Verdict

Goodie Two Shoes boasts the field's most complete data signature, pairing a field-leading class rating with an ideal draw that allows her to track a friendly pace. Perfect Your Craft should get the race run precisely to suit her progressive tracking style and serves as the immediate threat, while Floresta has the raw performance figures to run into a place if finding her best form.
