As mentioned previously I’m looking to expand this idea by including non handicap races and eventuall time permitting takiing a look at class 5 races. Just tidying up a few things first June ended with

Moving on to the non handicap races and most of these agree with the official handicapper and the betting forecast so odds are on skinny side but the strike rate is hovering around the 40% at moment, one selection today

Carl 2.45 Emeralds Pride ran up to RPR of 73 in her maiden win, the horses finishing close up to her that have run since are currently rated 79 & 82 so off 67 here must have chance. Hampered and stumbled in next run on handicap debut then improved her RPR to 74 LTO which makes her top rated here, the 2 horses that finished in front of her and run have both placed which gives me a bit more confidence in the form.



Don’t 3.45 Fresh Hope top rated from his course victory earlier this season, was making good headway joining the lead in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot before finding nothing for pressure and finishing 6th, trainer thinks drop in trip is what’s needed



Newb 7.08 Splendant there was a lot to like about his seasonal debut where he improved his RPR and he runs today off same mark, must have a good chance



Newm 4.40 it’s hard work to get away from Enforced here on the figures but the odds are plenty short enough, nothing obvious on the ratings to challenge him so I will make it my selection

I’m a firm believer that luck balances itself out in the long run but losing an 18-1 winner does stick in the throat slightly, however if I’d been on the eventual winner and not got the race in the stewards room that too would have stuck in the throat. All losers again today
