Cheers for the info mjay i have not read the book but fair dues to Paul Major he gave credit to same for providing the inspiration to attempt his UK adaptation. My copy of Horse Sense also disintegrated from over use many years ago but perhaps more importantly some of the good sense it contained still remains in my bonce.mick thank you for your suggestion and generous use of your time as usual.
Incidentally, I have just finished Lawrence Voegele's Professional Method of Winner Selection. It crumbled to dust as I turned every page. The book Horse Sense is literally (apart from the analysis section) the same. Even the race day anecdotes are the same.
