• Hi Guest, The forum will be moving hosts on 26 July and as such will be closed from Midday until the move has completed.
As we will be with new hosts it may take a while before DNS get updated so it could take while before you can get back on the forum.
I think it will take at least 4 hours but could easily be 48!

  • There seems to be a problem with some alerts not being emailed to members. I have told the hosts and they are investigating.

  • Sorry for the ongoing issues that you may have been experiencing whilst using the forum lately

It really is frustrating when the forum slows down or Server Error 500 pops up.

Apparently the hosts acknowledge there is a problem.
Thank you for using our services and sorry for the experienced delay!
Unfortunately, these errors are due to a higher server load. Our senior department knows about the issue and they are working towards a permanent resolution of the issue, however, I'd advise you to consider using our new cPanel cloud solutions: https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting

I will have to investigate what the differences are with what We have know compared to the alternative service they want us to migrate to.
    Keep safe.

Yes, Brute Force ran a decent race and has potential, imo.
The favourite - perhaps from its pedigree - was adequate, but, not outstanding, imo.
Flop of the race was Celtic Classic.
Beat the Breeze ran very well.

Thanks to all who contributed!
And, the "system bet" won - for what it's worth. :)

Cashel for me 6 year old but where else can they go but up - trainer form OK - missed the 14/1 Lto under tonights returning jockey trainer and jockey have nice record

- wind op looks to have settled in and away we go - dropped in distance gets the course 3 wins here - now of best mark of 59 - there a couple of potential improving 4year olds particularly Trepidation 0/3 here - Cashel for me

I regret to tell you, folks, that, for some reason, I backed Cashel (small) last night.
Can't read my notes properly, so will have to try to decipher the M. O.

All I can remember at present is that selection involved something I saw on the RP website. It's possibly something back-fitted.
I'll look into it, and try to report later, if I feel it's significant.

Some of my schemes don't last overnight. :)

Btw, had my 2nd covid jab yesterday; so far, so good. Pfyzer. I'm 73, but never been too worried about it all. Had my hip done during covid times. Four in the ward, two with high temperatures. So far, so good.
Despite the surgeon saying four years ago ( when I foolishly refused the op) that I'd "never run again", I'm up to 30 slow, lolloping, running steps now.
When I first started walking round that park ( after the new hip) I was sloshing through the mud on crutches. So. onward and upward, till the next crisis. Bit like the gambling game!
I intend going off on safari next week, so anything could happen, but, sure that's always the case.
Why, even Spencer managed to win yesterday!

back: number of runs back this row refers to.
when: how many days ago this run was.
bhah: comparison of bha performance figure to OR ran off on that date.
tbbhch: comparison of tbbhc figure to OR ran off on that date.

the rest of the column compare the figures of that run to todays figures.
weight difference e.g trepidation is 3 higher today than that run
jdiff: todays jibrace is 1 higher than the jibhorse achieved by Trepidation.
bha diff: 0 difference between that days bha performance figure and todays OR
tbbhcd : 12 higher on that days figure compared to todays OR.
sum = ae +af+ag columns.

Bha diff figure needs to be checked for very recent runs,

only runs where cols ae,af and ag were better than -5 were chosen.

referring to the Form sheet on the Chesham Chesham class ratings sheet you can check other
details such as the course and distance the run was at.

And, to add to the stress, here are my selections all based on the "unknown system" from the RP:

4.50 Chelmsford, Cashel
5.20 Chelmsford, Velvet Vista
5.50 Chelmsford, Engrave.

Let's see if any of these win. I may have pieced the "system" together by then.:neo:
I feel the possible link in these three selections may well be "recent good form" and within the top four of the betting. Two criteria that I used to deliberately ignore for decades.

No bet for me, but just a speculative selection of Musee Dorsay as booking of Luke Morris for first time caught the eye.

Ok, I admit I have used a bit of backfitting with the H-Run (Trainer) filter above in order to include this horse who has had 9 runs for trainer, but even without that it shows that Carroll does very well when using Luke Morris for first time in low grade handicaps.

First time headgear too and 2nd run after the break, but there are negatives also. Distance is possibly a negative as although his only win came over 7, the run over a mile here suggests that 7 maybe too short.

Musee Dorsay wins at 18/1. Tony Carroll is very difficult to read, so it’s a nice feeling to get one of his right even if I didn’t have a penny on it.
