Top 20 Trainers

Jackform

Mare
This is a new take on an old trainers' system that was said to have been successful for many years.
We take our view of the current season's top 20 trainers and arrange them in an order of merit and we add an increment to any of their runners placed in their last outing of the current season. In addition we also now take the latest success info for the runners that is available as confirmation.

I usually make my list up each Sunday evening for the coming week. This is my current list (you don't have to agree with it :headbang:):

20. Ferguson
19. Hobbs
18. Nicholls
17. Skelton
16. Henderson
15. Evan Williams
14. Fry
13, O'Neill
12. King
11. Greatrex
10. Venetia Williams
9. Longsdon
8. Sue Smith
7. G Moore
6. Pipe
5. Twiston Davies
4. Lucinda Russell
3. Mulholland
2. K Bailey
1. Ellison

Leicester (going forecast hurdle heavy)
1.55 Tara Flow (Venetia Williams) forecast short priced fav.
Some prefer to oppose this with The Organist (Oliver Sherwood) but not on my current list.

2.30 On Tour (Evan Williams)
Another one is Doctor Harper (David Pipe), which could be fav

Wetherby (forecast going heavy side of soft)
3.25 Azert De Coeur (Venetia Williams) forecast fav
Thoughthehatch (Lucinda Russell) won LTO.
Others are Darford Warbler (Sue Smith), Ballybolley (Twiston-Davies

Just for interest I have attempted to upload the original SCHB Sports Forum letter from the late 70's from where my adjusted version is derived.
My current system is somewhat different but it gives a point to start from at least (not for most of the sophisticated, technically able members I should think). At least after my grandson's system upgrade (he is 35) I was able to upload myself so could be hope fro me yet.

Other The Tourard Man

Early update this week as the only game in town today is Sedgefield, which shouldn't make a difference.

Trainer's Weekly Merit List NH 2016
20. Ferguson +1 place
19. Hobbs -1
18. Henderson +2
17. Nicholls -1
16. Skelton -1
15. Fry +1
14. Evan Williams -1
13. King +1
12. O'Neill -1
11. Greatrex no change
10. Longsdon +1
9. Ellison +8
8. Richards +8
7. Venetia Williams -3
6. GL Moore -1
5. Pipe -1
4. Twiston-Davies -1
3. Lucinda Russell -1
2. Mulholland -1
1. Sue Smith -1

(In the original points were added to the list figure for placings last time out in the current season and this can make a difference + win 10 points, 2nd 7, 3rd 6, 4th 3 - note that this can make a difference particularly once you get down below the top ten trainers).

Hello Jackform Jackform, I liked those 1970's scans and thought I would try and adapt it for the all weather on a daily basis.
I sorted the trainers with the most prize money from 1st of October 2015 with runners today and then the same with most winners and added up the points to get a master list for today. I selected Wolves as it has the most valuable race.
These are my selections and I will stop at a winner:
2.00 Fairy Foxglove
2.35 Jeanies Place
3.10 Wavelet
3.40 Ritasun
4.10 Abbey Angel (joint top but has CD)
4.45 no bet
5.15 Al's Memory

My first post on this forum - hope it starts well.

Hi @ tractorboy, you can get the top ten as a guest @ Flatstats, go to stats tab, then stats tables, tick turf and pop up options. Select trainers in the report, set min runs threshold to 1 and select sort by wins. In the date range area select 2015. Then press generate report.

Clicking on any of the columns displayed will sort by that column.
