First of all the race you race chosen is a bad example as it is a maiden, and 4 of the horses
are making there debuts.
The only way that Serenity Now could be the top rated selection, would be to use his jumps
speed figures.

My speed figures:
Goathland 62
Serenity Now 41
High Valley 33
Belahodood 29
Champagne Ransom 10
Seaham Hall Hotel —
Antiquarium —
Ledbury —
Soluble —

Goathland sets the standard in this race, a speed figure of 62.

Thanks, that is reassuring. Can you think why pro form have it at top rated lto speed figure? Its on the spread sheet at the beginning of the thread.

You have to remember that speed figures are only somebody's mathematical interpretation on how a race was run,
it is normally a good indicator that you have done something wrong when your top rated horse is 40/1.
 
Considering Goathland was second to Emirates Skycargo and the final time was only .4 of a second slower than the class 2 event of course and distance on the same card. Then the eye-catching "with approval" dead heated for first next time out, the happy hammer running 3rd in his next time out in yet another good time, the winner running just .2 seconds slower than the class 4 handicap of C&D. Rock fast cruised home on his next start, and the held up runner
VINCENZO COCCOTTI won next time out as well in a reasonable time.
I have been waiting for Goathland and intend to fill my small boots! Reassuringly as well Harry hurricane ran yesterday, running well to win. Is the only horse to ever beat emirates skycargo yet on re watch of that race harry hurricane was running in the pocket!

What on earth has that got to do with anything, it doesn't matter what scale you use, when you end up with your top rated trading around 50/1,
I afraid it's back to the drawing board.
When I look at the speed figures later on it will be interesting to see what speed figure the winner managed.
