• Hi Guest, The forum will be moving hosts on 26 July and as such will be closed from Midday until the move has completed.
As we will be with new hosts it may take a while before DNS get updated so it could take while before you can get back on the forum.
I think it will take at least 4 hours but could easily be 48!

  • There seems to be a problem with some alerts not being emailed to members. I have told the hosts and they are investigating.
  • Sorry for the ongoing issues that you may have been experiencing whilst using the forum lately

It really is frustrating when the forum slows down or Server Error 500 pops up.

Apparently the hosts acknowledge there is a problem.
Thank you for using our services and sorry for the experienced delay!
Unfortunately, these errors are due to a higher server load. Our senior department knows about the issue and they are working towards a permanent resolution of the issue, however, I'd advise you to consider using our new cPanel cloud solutions: https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting

I will have to investigate what the differences are with what We have know compared to the alternative service they want us to migrate to.
    Keep safe.

Might it help increase interest and participation if the 1st prize was say £2000.00,

just a thought.
But I am only a poor pensioner, how can I afford such a sum!

Actually it's a great system out here - because my wife is of pensionable age despite my not being so, I am a pensionista, which means I get the same benefits as her, including free access to the excellent health care here.

Early retirement was the best career move I have ever made!

Hi dave58 dave58 Samacas Samacas Couldn't see it anywhere above, but I take it the standard bookmakers rules apply with regards to Non-Runners in Forecasts etc.
Taken from Bet365.....

Should any forecast contain a non-runner then the total stake will be placed to Win on the other selection, unless a non-runner results in less than 3 actually running in a race; then all forecasts for that race will be void. In fixed price forecasts the remaining selection will be settled at SP.

(I have a non-runner in the 5.30 Kilbeggan today but although it's taken a massive walk in the market, would like to know the above applies. Thanks)

Are you alright T tacker? I've read a few of your posts lately and you seem sorely pissed off.

I hope it's just sarcastic jokes that I'm not getting but if you are pissed off I'm sorry

Good luck tomorrow

Over to Samacas Samacas here, he is the gentleman who actually runs the competition so whatever his decision I second it.

An interesting question and one that has never needed an answer until now. I had no idea how such bets should be settled so I had a look at a few sites(see below) and that was no help at all.
It would appear that there is no 'industry standard' so for competition purposes:
If one of the selections is a non runner the bet will become a win bet on the remaining selection.

PaddyPower: Forecast bets are void when: one of the selections does not run,...

BetVictor: Forecast bets are void when:.
a. One of the selections does not run.

Ladbrokes: If you have a non-runner in a forecast bet, your bet is settled as a single at SP on the remaining selection.

Bet365: Should any forecast contain a non-runner then the total stake will be placed to Win on the other selection, unless a non-runner results in less than 3 actually running in a race; then all forecasts for that race will be void.

Yes, I don't really understand why I haven't come across this before either
Guess I must have managed to avoid non-runners, up until now.
You would have thought that there would be an 'industry standard', but, alas, no.
Your answer is, for me, the better and most sensible one 👍

NB./ It's funny how it's exactly a year to the day (2nd June) since the last Rules update and another piece has been added.

Thanks for the concern hedgehog hedgehog and yes it's clear i don't fit in.
Not wishing to take this thread off topic, but I feel the need to reply to this.
T tacker Just about everybody has the option to fit in, you've had some sensible things to say in the past and I for one thought you'd progress to being an asset on here, so I'm sorry that you feel this way. Try sticking to posting about the racing, and ignore anyone you feel is not playing fair with you, I'm sure some racing related posts from yourself could improve both your own feelings about this forum and the opinions of others.

T tacker, I've always thought you fit in. You've highlighted some very good picks and made very sensible contributions. I echo davejb davejb, thoughts. Please don't feel you don't fit, you fit.

Good luck today

Hello
Can we write 2-3 bets per day ( all with max 5 pts) ,
Yes you can have several 5pt bets per day as long as the following is adhered to:

From the Updated Rules
No daily limit but no single 'bet, event, or selection' can involve the use of more than 5pts'

And by the way, I have posted this elsewhere but we are spending the New year up in the mountains here, so apologies to the winner of the tipping competition this month but you may have to wait until we return to civilisation before I can get your winnings to you.
