Have you downloaded the file from the link kindly provided by nedloh?

Yes I have Thankyou It has helped me understand a lot where I am struggling is with the going allowance, I have managed to put a basic of the Solidus on to excel, but not quiet sure about going allowance.

Hi Bud, I used to do it every saturday and sunday and concentrated on 1mile plus races I did a spreadsheet to input and then it worked out itself, some where along the way horses were running under standard and the races used to have a minus fig which became unbalenced and in my opinion that was through the weekender.

I stopped it because of time but somedays it was accurate others way off, it was a good read though if you send me your PM adress i will try and go through an example with you

Dicko,

i dont do it any more but if I remember you worked out the going correction for the race, ie .3 for firm x 7 furlongs = 2.10 you added this to the time shown on the race say above by 1.00 which gave you a 3.10 x the prsecibed rating for the course which would have moved up one as it was firm so Pontefract was a D the above would make it a C so if I remeber it was around 15.5

15.5 x 3.10 =48.05 take that away from 200 gave you a intial rating of 151.95 or 152

you then checked the class rise or fall and weight gained or lost

this happened with all the horses providing of course

The time from the last race was a decent run race which you used then from the results you gauged the race, its a lot of work and easier if you had a data base from every last run, there was also a draw figure to work out on some courses so you can see lot of work involved.

I didnt want to try and be secret Dicko i dont get the weekender any more so dont deal in times i have file not sure how to up load but would send it PM to anyone interested then they can up load to the forum

cheers

Thanks Pingman
I'm sure you were being very genuine mate and that thought never crossed my mind. I saw another forum fall to bits over something similar and I didn't want anything like that surfacing on here. Maybe a knee jerk reaction on my part but with the forums best interests at heart. Hope no offence was taken as none was meant.

Never saw this Dicko, but no offence taken I have spoken with TWMills on the phone and tried to help and e-mailed him its a complicated piece of work and you need to be on it daily.

cheers
