Feels like a shame if it is, since he will just become the next fall guy for a completely dysfunctional club, recruitment policy, and a bunch of players who were either half-decent five years ago ( e.g. Evans) or who just can’t be arsed (e.g. Martial).

Yes he should be sacked not because of the way the team is performing, he can’t help it if players come to the club to act as mercenaries for the money .

…. Could be classed as chasing Rainbows. Does not really matter how many managers they get, unless the players get off their backsides and start to play as if they really meant it, then they may get somewhere. Bobby Charlton must be turning in his grave! ;)
