Strategy Builder

Since I began following this forum, it seems that the majority of users place bets manually without the assistance of automated strategy tools. Some may automate parts of their process with Excel, but advanced tools appear uncommon here.

On another betfair-focused forum I frequent, most members present themselves as professional traders well-versed in machine learning and various programming languages.

Just this past weekend, one member from that community announced their work on a new betfair application featuring a strategy builder, claiming it offers functionalities currently missing from other available options.

I’m curious, what tools do you use for strategy building?

Is it mostly just Excel, or something more sophisticated? With a new app about to launch on the betfair marketplace even though, after checking, I see there are already around 80 apps available, I wonder if there’s still room for fresh innovation.

Personally, I rely on a tailored application I designed to suit my specific needs, as I work as a software developer. I’d love to hear what non-programmers use and whether you find current betfair tools sufficient for building and executing your strategies.

With All Weather racing, I use Excel and have a few Macro's to sort my ratings out. Time taken is about 15 mins / race. Going through each race after the macro's gives me a feel for the race. I read comments from Sandform and Hugh Taylor and make a note of them on my spreadsheet. If I just paid for a betfair developers app to do what I do, I feel would it would be too mind numbing and I would lose the feel I get for a race.
