Sectional Timing

Sheltie61

Newbie
Hi to everyone
I’m new to the forum and i’m a keen follower of Raw speed figures.I once read a comment from a trainer
saying if a horse can record a time of around 12 sec a furlong it has the abillity to win a race.
Sectional Timing is not available in this country but on the odd occasion when we get it like at Newmarket last Saturday
did they get it right or am i missing something.View any race on the card and watch the sectional times per furlong. After each furlong it gives the time for that furlong and the running total.Look at the final total then look at the time the race took. There is nearly a second difference in some races. How can this be.Someone explain to me which is correct. If the sectionals are correct because you can actually see them being recorded, then are we to believe that at all Racecourses the finishing times are wrong.

Sectional timing is available for most races now at Newcastle, Lingfield, Wolverhampton, Doncaster and Windsor racecourses using the Gmax system. Follow the sectional time link in the text here: Gmax Race - Live horse race tracking system . free to access.

We have a sectional timing thread on the Inner Sanctum Blog Sectional Time Note Book

Good resource if you know how to use it

Tried your link but 'If you want access you need to contribute to the forum by taking part in discussions and making useful posts.'. Was my post useful? :)

Hi B Bob21 , there are different sections of the forum and not everyone has access to them all . Keep joining in discussions and you may find yourself 'promoted'
