• Hi Guest, The forum will be moving hosts on 26 July and as such will be closed from Midday until the move has completed.
As we will be with new hosts it may take a while before DNS get updated so it could take while before you can get back on the forum.
I think it will take at least 4 hours but could easily be 48!

  • There seems to be a problem with some alerts not being emailed to members. I have told the hosts and they are investigating.
  • Sorry for the ongoing issues that you may have been experiencing whilst using the forum lately

It really is frustrating when the forum slows down or Server Error 500 pops up.

Apparently the hosts acknowledge there is a problem.
Thank you for using our services and sorry for the experienced delay!
Unfortunately, these errors are due to a higher server load. Our senior department knows about the issue and they are working towards a permanent resolution of the issue, however, I'd advise you to consider using our new cPanel cloud solutions: https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting

I will have to investigate what the differences are with what We have know compared to the alternative service they want us to migrate to.
    Keep safe.

Randox Health Grand National

I had fancied Elegant Escape for this for quite some time and backed him a few months ago. He seemed custom-designed for it to my eye but there was always the risk that his trigger happy trainer Tizzard would balls things up by not keeping him fresh. Sure enough I see he is set to carry top weight at Haydock in the Grand National trial on Saturday. The ground will be desperate as it was two years back when Blaklion under 11.12 left his career in the Haydock mud (he was 7/1 Grand National fav at the time). Nigel Twiston-Davies, sadly, is another one who cannot bear leaving a horse in its box when that's the only place it should be.

So, it's back to my second string, Kimberlite Candy who won the same Warwick race (with even more authority) that One For Arthur did prior to his National success. The price has gone a bit now but with or without Tiger Roll I think Kimberlite Candy will take a lot of beating. He raced throughout the Warwick run as though the choke was fully out, but he powered away on the run in as though he could go round again. Assuming the blinkers continue having such a positive effect, he'll be hard to beat in the big one.

Good luck
Joe

I had my biggest win in the National with Auroras Encore in 2013 at a very big price.
I don't think I will ever be able to equal that feat ever again, but it taught me an important lesson.
Don't be afraid to back big priced horses, they do win, and what a wondrous feeling when they do.

My only and last winner in the Grand National was One For Arthur.
For the last few years I don't bet in it anymore, one of the most difficult races to come out on top in.
The lottery that anyone can win.

After seeing it run the other day I would certainly not be on Tiger Roll.

The best of luck to you with your selection Steeplechasing Steeplechasing.
