Problem gambling

One good thing is Gamstop and other charities managed to put enough pressure on government that they banned reverse withdrawals.
But what happened to me a few weeks ago is outrageous.
I've registered with potsofluck as I've runout of good websites to gamble due my self exclusion from most of them about few dozens. Lost few hundred then hit a good one over a grand. Withdrawal request. Immediately they asking me for a lod of documents statements selfy with bank card and others. I've provided everything as requested. 5 working days no reply . Customer service is escalating to another department ok. 7 working days I'm kicking off a bit with email and live chat. Email saying my account fully verified now. Where's my payment I'm asking them? Live chat: it's with payment department you will get email a.s. a.p.
9 working days till no news I'm gambling on slots with about £200 balance then my balance jumps by £1000 . I'm like wtf? Did I win or what? Checked in history no chance. Live chat : they saying oh we refunded you withdrawal back into your account due to glitz on the system. I'm saying : Do you know it's illegal in uk to reverse withdrawals? They did not like that and being assy with me but did process my new withdrawal as I nearly lost it all again.
Thinking to make a complaint against them as I've read in reviews they done it to a lot of people same and even worse things
They know if they delay it enough you have the potential to lose it, it’s not by mistake it’s a devious, unscrupulous tactic.

To some extent it is punter apathy which enables these poor practices to continue. A forlorn hope i know but a national punters strike would provoke some much needed change and lets be honest probably save many of us money during the process. Such a win - win situation is rare for us punters so why is it not occurring.?
National punters strike to improve and make services fair is a dream to many. Would love that to happen. That would make them shake and people realise a lot even the ones never gambled

Funny how many stories you hear of online casino players winning early when they first register a new account, I guess they need to hook you in somehow, if you have the sense to withdraw they use tactics to make that difficult so you are compelled to play(lose) more, and then of course they know some will deposit again to try to get their money back, it’s in the control of bookies to let you win and lose at their discretion in a way to maximise how much they take from you, they probably have algorithms for this goal.

Join today after boxing day 2020.
Just want to say how stupid you feel when you up by £2500 on slots and gamble everything away in 12 hours.
I've joined a betred 2 days ago deposited £100 in 5 minutes I'm up by a £1000. Nice if you take it and withdraw BUT existed carry on lost that then another £1700 chasing that win. What a twat can't believe to myself. Learn from this mistake
The phrasing here is a little difficult to understand in parts but it appears you were £2500 in profit but after 12 hours and another £1700 trying to win it back you recognised your poor judgement.
With all the checks and balances that are supposed to exist i'm surprised the bookie let things go on for such a long time, rather taking advantage of anyone that vulnerable.

I thought I would post this not just to help you A Al5544 but I am sure others may face exactly the same as yourself (I have done it MANY TIMES!)

The thing that changed it all for me was this.
You need to ask yourself why are you betting??

Is it for fun and you're not really bothered about an income/money coming from it?
If this is the case then set yourself a monthly pot to blow. This is money you have already lost and don't care if it goes. If you win lots of money and lose it all then don't worry about it - your playing for fun right!

If you are playing to make a few more pennies - be it to buy a beer or second income then we need to approach it all differently.
You need to protect your bank! 1-3% stakes. You need to create a strategy or system that you have control over - adds to profits and you know when there will be dips. You will see a lot of information on losing runs, ROI and A/E on here. These are all important as we know when we will have a bad run or if a system stops performing. With this, you know NOT to chase!

Sadly casinos have no control over the above 3 and it really is true that the casino always wins. This is why its best stuck with the "fun" part.

Have a plan - record and treat it like a business.

I have an addictive personality and I use this as my advantage! Basically my goal is to try beat the system .... if I can earn more then a bank I am happy :)

Sorry ofr the rambelling but hope it helps!

Want to post something positive here -

Great that we have the sense to understand when things are not going our way -once you realise that something is wrong or causing grief or giving you pain - STOP - dont look for ways around it or to fix it whilst still in the whirpool - STOP, reflect , research and find a positive of spending the time and the money - if you find a way to do that in racing or football or whatever that's fine - but got to put the work in to realise the cause and cure required to stop the pain.

With the mountain of percentages stacked against punters, in a way that, I can think of applies to any other other pastime - you really have to know what you can get out of your pastime, be it the pleasure of sport or monetary gain.

Honestly to oneself, is probably the key to punting at any level.

A Al5544 I am certain i speak for all by saying you are welcome and hopefully its helped, but just remember that you took the first and most important step by being man enough to share your negative experience when many do not and continue on the path to ruin.

Edit : Just a thought but you can still enjoy this forum and participate in the many threads without risking a pound via betting. I hope you do. :)

Even though it's from a while back, the lessons you shared are still valuable. It's a reminder that the allure of big wins can sometimes lead us down a risky path. Reflecting on past experiences, like the one you shared, can help us make better choices in the future. Thanks for bringing it up again – it's never too late to learn from our mistakes.
