PHS's ramblings

Got some 10.5 Silver State (15:05 Hay) at 10:08 (going for a hat-trick), laid half off at 6.6 at 10:43. Was 3/1 Fav last night.

When he won at Donc LTO, they were already pushing along 3f out; could still be ahead of the handicapper. Stall 8 is the possible stumbling block.

Taken on for the lead, got racing too far out and was spent 1f out.

Euston Hall (17:40 Nby) 6/1 this morning, goes off at 13.0 BFSP (BF icycle) and wins (helped by running hard against the stands side rail).

..Classic, showing at 13/2 Early on HRB, goes off at a whopping 19.0 BFSP and wins (same track position) with a late, late run.

Unbelievable drift on Get Outta Here. Was 2/1 Fav when I looked this morning, though I couldn't figure out why. Drifts to 3/1 at 19:42, then on the Show, drifts out to 11/2, then wins at 9/2.

Candlish can't buy a winner at the moment; I backed her Candonomore* at 5/1 last night, backed in to 15/8 Fav and runs like a drain (luckily I saved on the winner). Her Vidmiyr backed into 5/2 for the above race and gets headed near the finish; that's 1-35 this season.

* B365 knew. They opened 9/2 when everywhere else was 7/2. When I went to take the 9/2 they were Boosting to 5/1 to get more fish in the net.

Just watching replays. Is there a more promising but difficult to win with horse than Barley?
Runs tomorrow at Ripon with Allan riding. Not for me from stall 9, plenty to go wrong for a horse that needs everything to fall right.

Just a quick note to endorse what you said RE: BARLEY

BARLEY — the clock loves it; the racecourse doesn't. Across 32 runs it has won once (Carlisle, June 2024, C4) and been second nine times.
  • Next-run finishes after each of its 9 seconds: 4, 7, 8, 13, 2, 5, 2, 4 … and today. Zero wins, best was two more seconds. A 0-from-9 conversion.
  • It has been sent off favourite/short and still only placed — 2nd at 3.5, 2nd at 4.33, and the LTO the sectional card raves about (Hamilton, 2nd, beaten a nose) it was 4.83 BSP.
  • Its OR has slid 89 → 66; today it runs off its lowest-ever mark in C5

    Cheers

Strange comment from Timeform in their summary for 15:25 Redcar

FIERY DAMSEL brings a different profile to the table making her handicap debut trying 7f for the first time and she looks very interesting.

The race is over a mile.

Just watching replays.

15:25 Redcar on Friday - what a finish, 100yds out there are 6 in line (11 ran) and a 7th maybe 1L away. 3 in line at the finish with the 4th 0.5L away.

Anyone noticed the poor quality of ATR Replays. Switched over to RTV to watch some. Is the limitation of the we've got all the replays claim?
