Thoughts anyone ? is it gonna be one of the frontrunners or are they gonna appoint someone from outside of the first three / four ? Cant say any of em fill me with huge confidence if im being honest

Lastest odds are (pp)

Eddie Howe 2/1
Graham Potter 5/2
Lee Carsley 7/2
Jurgen Klopp 17/2
Mauricio Pochettino 9/1
Frank Lampard 16/1
Thomas Tuchel 18/1
Pep Guardiola 28/1
Michael Carrick 33/1
Jose Mourinho 40/1
Gary O'Neil 40/1
Steven Gerrard 50/1
Sean Dyche 50/1

and a few more rank outsiders

Its usually some one who will agree to just about anything they want so i would guess out of them lampard.

yeah ive always thought the same about the 'yes men' thing , probably why Cloughie never got the job

…. I don’t feel Lampard has proved himself at club level so I would not choose him. Probably Klopp for me.;)

Fair do's Delboy99 Delboy99 , i just want someone whose passionate and can take us to the next level tbh , none of the above inspire me with confidence i gotta say lol

yeah i agree but they never make right choices they always want some one who compleatly answers to them and dosnt rock boat.As sean said why not clough he clearly told you why himself.
I would be shocked if klopp even concidered it. The only other one i see who fits there ideal is carrick.

Yeah i cant see Klopp going for it either to be honest , i think the bookies just pluck some names outta thin air

Surely now in the age where the evidence is that most football pundits and analysts are women then they must know more about football than men and diversity is the most important factor when considering a new employee then it must be time for Sarina Wiegman.
It would not be very progressive to hire an English white male.
I would be disgusted if they don’t hire a woman or a BAME candidate, what message would that send.
She has already won a big international tournament something than none of these boring white men will ever achieve.

We got Southgate more by luck than judgement although he was actually 1st choice before Big Sam, Southgate worked with the U21's & natural progression would be takeover the senior squad, it worked with Southgate so why not Lee Carsley.
In all honesty its a thankless job, apart from major tournaments no manager wants their club players in the squad so we are forever experimenting

Lee Carsley is the only one that deserves the chance, but what I would like to see for the nations league matches is a selection panel made up of all the experts who have been ripping Southgate to bits over the last few weeks. Not going to happen but would be interesting to see if their idea of a team and tactics would actually work in the real world.

They wont work ever for england and the reason being technical ability they havnt got it and its in some way not there fault its the weather there brought up in and play in all year round.
Where as you imagine being in nice sunny climate where you play on beach and show technique and grow as a skillfull player.
Look at his team every one said they have the most gifted players up front by far yet he dosnt have confidence to attack what does that tell you quiet simply two things the manager either thought there not as skill full as people think or he really was terrified of his defence not being good enough either.
The thing that people get mixed up with is the premier league all though its a great league is the man city players are playing highline which england dont do . kane up on his own which he hates.and when you have a team who sit back like england do you need midfield who can attack quick and be skillfull not a midfield who are so worried about defending they cant attack and england was full of that also.
maddison on bench when they needed to attack mind boggling.
The only way england will ever be top winners is to start training there players and play them in qualifying matches as attacking set up at all time
which to me would mean a 3 5 2 and the 2 wide players in the 5 attacking wingers and at least 2 of the middle attacking to and work on more skillfull players in team and passing better.

Doubt it matters who coaches them / until you can pick from a top flight team that actually play together week in week out you cannot get the team work required - diversity has won once again - simply to many non eligible international players ( for England) playing in our top teams - there is no connection in our team - No back back four connection no winger to centre connection - etc - a team of misfits can not operate successfully at the top level - so for me I would suggest looking to a champion ship team and manager .
