Live streams problem in Cyprus

Dear sirs
First of all i will like to thank the admins that approved my membership in this forum
my problem basically is the bad quality of internet we have here wich is unusefull to watch Live streams ...and if we can watch it comes with loads of delay
Is there any other ways to watch the races ....Hounds and Horses without the need of good fast Internet?
regards from sunny Cyprus

Hi. I 'm from Greece. Here we have betandwatch when we bet through bet365. In this RUK is super but ATR is just too bad. Also ATR cut the picture too soon and we have to wait for the photo finish, when it is a difficult one.
OPAP have a new utility. Go horseraces.gr. It was down today, I believe because of maintenance.
There are the pirate links also which come and go and they all suffer from buffer.
I used to have ATR subscription 5 years ago. RUK I could n't - it was only for UK and Ireland.
Also a friend from Cyprus who lived in Athens had the full SIS in giant screen those years.

Thanks for your reply cosmic.......
Im sure there are more solutions for us..........Im checking and testing one for few weeks now ..looks more than good...but maybe Rules of the board not allowed me to post anything

Sorry guys I hadn't seen this enquiry. T trikkis and cosmicsports cosmicsports , if you have poor broadband speed then I'm afraid there is just no real solution to your problem and I am assuming it's not cable (fast broadband) that you have and it's a service issue with phoneline Broadband? Quite a lot of people in rural areas of the U.K. also have slow internet speeds even now so you are not alone in not being able to stream videos. I suppose you could investigate satellite broadband but even here in the U.K. it is still relatively expensive option with no real guarantees as it can be affected by the weather (and we have that in abundance! :) ).

One site I use is cricfree dot sx and there is also a version in HD, are you aware of either of them?

Quite a few bookies here do live stream have you tried any of them? Some will have minimum stakes to qualify for live streaming but you could lay back some of it on Betfair if it's just a few races you wish to watch. If it's all day coverage then you could try the pirate stations who stream.
Watching other than full screen to save bandwidth might help too. Tweaking your PC video settings to a lower resolution might help?

I watched some from Southwell in the Greek one today, also Turffontein and Cagnes.
Awful. Buffer-interruptions-ghosts. Did you try ? I wrote them a message in their page to repair it.

The betandwatch streams do work but the atr one is notably problematic. One day my provider lost it alltogether while at the same time RUK worked. The clever bet365 assistant somehow worked out the nature of the problem and he said to me go around town and try the other providers and see what happens ! It was indeed the provider I have, but the picture came back after a few days. But that means the atr stream is not on a good server.

I have noticed however bet365 has no delay. Sometimes they take last minute bets from me and I click view race and the horses are a good half a furlong gone from the gates.
On the other hand in football their stream has a small delay. On Saturday Juventus scored against Roma and the cheer sound came on, but on tv Juventus were only starting to build their attack.

All in all I think the racing authorities are fools not having a free broadcast system.
This will increase racing's popularity and the televising companies won't be left complaining either.
The Greek company seems to agree with me on that, while the strictest of them all are the French who do not even allow replays. You can see l' arc videos in youtube offered by RUK, not the French. But for the small portion of the French program included in the Greek program they allow free transmission.

Yet another great free internet utility is offered by the French now (page http://www.pmu.fr).
Go to their program page and select "les courses en direct".
They have sometimes UK and Meydan almost every time.
Up till recently they were showing nothing -like I said just before- but now they changed.
It's very nice too, you can make it big or small by dragging and the picture adjusts itself. It does not become foggy when you make it big.
In Greece PMU site is accessible but we cannot become members and place bets. We can bet through opap.gr (it's exactly the same thing, no price-cuts - up to now at least). But I 'd like to know this: Can you from UK become members of pmu.fr and place bets there ?
