For a long time I have been observing the following thing happening with football prices:
The double chance prices were not matching those obtained by dutching the final results.
Thus if the home win was priced at 2.00 (evens) and the draw was priced at 3.00 (2 to 1) then the "home or draw" was not priced 1.20 (= 2 x 3 / (2 + 3) ) but 1.16-1.17 or thereabouts.
So whereas if I bet 6 units on the home win and 4 units on the draw the combined bet does in fact win 12, if I use the the easily reachable "double chance key" it wins 11.7 !
This is quite clearly a trap to catch the unwary to snatch a little from his winnings from the double chance
In the end I decided to make this known to IBAS.
On the 24th of October I checked all the champions league matches (8 matches) and all of the 24 resulting double chances were that way (less than the double chances
obtained by dutching that is). I also checked some premiership matches of the following days and the same was true.
But -surprize- for today 11 November in all the premiership matches all the double chances I checked in bet365 were paying more than they do by the dutching method !
The same for Wedensday's champions league !
Apparently they got scared and either stopped doing it, or slashed somewhat the 1-X-2 prices to break even !
But IBAS say it is a "legal practice" when in fact it is illegal and it is also a shameful trick.
