I once asked Dave Edwards for an example on how he goes about compiling going allowances, he used the term "questimation", he guesses using his 30+ years of experience.
Without the ability to work out the accurate going allowances, compiling speed figures would be a total waste of your time, I spent two years on the subject before I even dipped my toes in the water.
I used the term recently "standing in a room on my own", who would I invite in to discuss the subject about going allowances, the answer was, maybe Mick Johnson of Racing Sense.
