• Hi Guest, The forum will be moving hosts on 26 July and as such will be closed from Midday until the move has completed.
As we will be with new hosts it may take a while before DNS get updated so it could take while before you can get back on the forum.
I think it will take at least 4 hours but could easily be 48!

  • Sorry for the ongoing issues that you may have been experiencing whilst using the forum lately

It really is frustrating when the forum slows down or Server Error 500 pops up.

Apparently the hosts acknowledge there is a problem.
Thank you for using our services and sorry for the experienced delay!
Unfortunately, these errors are due to a higher server load. Our senior department knows about the issue and they are working towards a permanent resolution of the issue, however, I'd advise you to consider using our new cPanel cloud solutions: https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting

I will have to investigate what the differences are with what We have know compared to the alternative service they want us to migrate to.
    Keep safe.

Just been looking at the form for the 3 22 at Sedgefield Gameface has been running over 2 miles now over 3mile 3 it was his pointing form that took my eye April 29th 2018 1st Monkfish 2nd Gameface 4th Fury Road 5th Fiddleronthehoof plus Chantry House unseated, now either the horse has completely gone or off 10- 1 in a class 5 its a certainty??

Its been a quiet week on the punting front this week but looking at tomorrow's racing i think i have found a bit of value. The horse in question is Exod'ela in the 3 15 at Haydock available at 25s with Betfair sportsbook 5 places and 25s Coral 4 places, Ifirst noticed this horse flying up the Cheltenham hill in October to finish fifth since then i dont think he has had the same sort of race to run in ie big field and decent ground i am hoping the return to simalar conditions and the fact that Jamie Snowden has his horses in better form 2 winners in the last few days will result in the selection going close.

A poor selection yesterday never got into the race ,on to tomorrow and 2 horses take my eye the first is Wentworth Falls in the 3.25 Redcar at upto 17/2 in some places having had 2 recent outings i feel he should be fit enough to go close now,he is drawn in the middle of the field which should allow his jockey to keep him covered up and produced with a late run which seems to be his best run style , Wentworth has only run once over CD and it was winning one also in April .The other horse im backing is more speculative and its Jerseyback in the Irish Grand National at 5.00 at around 40/1 5places it seems significant that he has travelled to Ireland with the costs involved ,he seems to prefer going right handed and has been well supported in 2 decent races at Ascot this year both of which were run on soft ground. I am a better surface will see him run a decent race and as a bonus his jockey had a double today so he should be riding with confidence good luck to anyone who follows me in.

Good luck C Coseleymon , I almost put Wentworth Falls on the horses for courses thread but decided to swerve the race , in with a good shout tho i think
Just checked and it is the same race he won on his only appearance at the course following on from a run at Doncaster the same this time around . A question i would ask you if you dont mind is do you often see horses who have won once at a track not return there for over 4 years

To be honest cant think of one off hand but i should think there have been one or two over the years , i wouldnt let it bother me though

After checking this on HRB, it turns out it happens more often than I thought it would. On average you get at least 160 horses in a year returning to the course they have won at for first time in over 3 years, it happens more often over jumps but even on flat you get about at least 60 a year on average, I say at least because there maybe more as those that might have run at the course before the win are not easy to catch in the query, so I am only counting those that ran at the course only once before and won.

Following shows the performance by year, for flat (both turf & aw) only.

The one winner so far this year was Elixsoft (22/1) in February, who had returned to Wolverhampton for first time in more than 3 years.

Good luck with your bets today.

Well it was nice to get a winner yesterday so that takes the results so far to 19 selections 3 winners 2placed 14 unplaced .
At £10ew it comes to £380 staked £555 return. On to today and i am taking a chance on Scrutinise in the 4.25 at Plumpton which has drifted out to 20s which i think is too big a price. The reasoning for this selection is even though he finished 7th last time out the horses that finished 6th and 8th have both won in the last few days so the form seems ok ,the selection has a couple of course victories to his name so a chance is taken ew at a decent price.

After a quiet week im back in the game tomorrow the first choice is one i suggested at Uttoxeter in March that ended up as a non runner its Id Better Go now in the 4-27 @ Ayr already well supported into around the 11/2 mark i think he has an excellent ew chance in this as he has done all his winning when returning after at least 90 days off the track this is the case tomorrow
The other one i have done ew is a bit more speculative that is Bon Retour in the 2-40 @ Ayr this horse won his first start for Willie Mullins of a mark of 121 at the Galway festival last July. After this he ran in some decent handicap hurdles in Ireland one of this was when he finished 7th of 20 in a race won by Flooring Porter with Sire De Berlais in 2nd any Any Second Now behind him, perhaps he has had an injury and is not as good as that form but at 22/1 on a mark lower than he has won off i am taking a chance. Good luck to anyone who follows and all the best with your own selections

Nice little winner today and the other one just missed out on 3rd at a big price that takes the running toal to £440 staked 652 returned at £10 ew bets. Nothing for tomorrow but i do like one ew on Sunday it is Marown in the 1-50 at Ayr available at 7s with the sportsbook and 6s at least with most other firms, i am taking on the top 2 in the betting PIlbara from the Emmet Mullins stable is the fav but has not run since October has not won over fences and is too short for me 2nd fav is Five Star Getaway who has impressed me but has risen from OR 94 to 135 ,this for me leaves the selection as a solid ew play a winner of 2 of his 5 starts he held an entry in the 3-00 but i am hoping they have done the right thing running him in the handicap, good luck to anyone who follows me in

Im going to take a chance tomorrow on Atlantic Storm in the 2 30 at Warwick, the only doubt i have is he reappears quickly after what i thought was a really good run at Stratford on Sunday where he travelled and jumped really well till entering the straight. A drop back in trip to 2 miles will i feel be ideal ,although slightly more exposed than some of the others in the field i think that around the 15/2 mark gives us a fair ew chance and hopefully a victory

A small profit yesterday with a 2nd who im sure is going to win shortly, onto tomorrow and in the 5-20 at Sandown Cascova is available at 5/1for me the horse has improved on his 2 most recent runs because of the good ground and i fully expect him to go close, i am also going to back a horse at a big price in the 3-40 and it is Larry available at 40/1, this is very speculative and he could easily be tailed off ,he has never attempted a trip like tomorrows but the reason for the bet is because of his course form 2 runs 2 victories including at this meeting 2 years ago .Trained by Gary Moore who's runners are always worth a look at Sandown im hoping for a turn up good luck with everyone's bets for the weekend
