Doubles - test

Thought I would throw my hat back in the ring and start a new thread. The idea is to choose two matches with odds (loose rule) between 1.3 and 2.
The double needs to be at least evens. For the purpose of this thread I will be looking at match results in the English leagues.

Todays double Man U and Oxford to win 2.02 (betfair sports man U 1.29 and Oxford 1.57)

Backing will be equal stakes of 1pt.

Many thanks Form

This weeks double is Portsmouth and Man city. Both away wins. Double is 2.3

Running total (pts) -1

*I have not automated my selections and am generally choosing either an in form or team and/or an out of form team. I will continue this thread til the end of the season or -10pts.

If anybody else wants to place their selections here feel free.

lol two for two. Lets hope I can do better with this weeks selections

I was going to choose Exeter but that game has been postponed so this weeks double will be Swansea and Lincoln at 2.4

running total -2

Lol teams should pay me to bet against them.

Should say that i started this thread as a personal challenge as after reviewing my records I noticed that my multiple bets have been giving back a lot of the profit I made on singles back and inplay betting. Ah well onwards and upwards

Current points -3

I placed the bet with Betfair Sportsbook who have yet to settle one way or the other. I am presuming it is classed as a winning single bet as the abandoned game should be void but you never know with these guys.
Until it's settled I won't be placing another bet.
Also, I believe I am limiting myself to Euro League football ( not cup stuff ), so I don't clash with your English league picks, so I too, will leave until the weekend. Take care.

EDIT : There is a 72 hour window, apparently, to see if the match is re-scheduled - otherwise it is settled as a single.

Both home teams have good reason to win and solidify their positions in their respective tables.
Good luck tomorrow with your picks spreadsheetbettor spreadsheetbettor

This is actually a very good idea, because it not only gives you some structure to a bet, but really makes you focus on whether you feel these teams will be out to win.
Picking two matches only, from sometimes only a handful of prospective games, seems to be working - at least for the moment.
Wish I could get something going along these lines for gee-gee bets!! lol

What's gee gee?

I thought so.... saying that my current selections posted here are not proving the theory, at the least in the short term. I primarily chose to focus on the odds in this range though simply because none of my current systems look at these odds.

This weekends bets to avoid, I mean my doubles are Norwich and Swansea bet365 odds of 2.27

Current profit -3

I did kick myself with last weeks Swansea (a last min replacement for the called off exeter game) as one of my systems said home win

All the best

" But, alas, I guess that's not what you're about.....is it? :)" Had to smile at this because this IS my attempt to bet without spreadsheets. On a more serious note my tone was meant to be flippant rather than depressed as whilst I only bet peanuts it does pay for the beer.

As always retriever retriever thank you for commenting on the thread and I look forward to seeing your European selections. Hopefully you can continue your streak like I sadly did

Onwards and upwards this thread WIll, okay may :D, finish the season in profit

Enjoy and I will post my next selections without fail on Tuesday

all the best

additionally what is gee gee? This more than anything is really bugging me

Haha! Then you better get straight back on them then!! I was going by your Swansea V Bristol City post - I thought your picks where due to spreadsheets.....

Actually, I am a fan of spreadsheets and you've helped me out in the past with one - so I appreciated that. Don't take me to seriously as I like to joke around and usually know who is also on a similar wavelength.

As regards to my Euro picks, I was contemplating bowing out here. With five straight winning bets and 5pt profit, it can only go downhill from here!!.....lol That's of course if Clermont don't blow a 2-0 lead against 10 men in the 2nd half.

But if you're happy to have me around......then I guess it would be impolite to leave now. Hopefully we will see some other(s) input too.
