Yes to both but rather than attempt to price the whole race i focus on creating a minimum acceptable price for the horse i am interested in backing. Sticking to this can prove one of the hardest racing disciplines to follow when a swerve on price does not prevent the horse from winning but these are always the ones we remember as opposed to the more frequent occasions when a poor value loser is avoided.Anyone else create tissue and stick to it
Morning Mick only pricing the one of interest ? - my way is based on the percentage chance (100 %) plus aprox 10% that the rating indicate , as such can be and are auto generated from the rating , thinking this way , in fact they are a rating .Yes to both but rather than attempt to price the whole race i focus on creating a minimum acceptable price for the horse i am interested in backing. Many might say well a loser is a loser whatever but to me backing one at a poor value price is the ultimate messing on yourself.
Some do (I dont ) currently that is but have trialed in the past and it is profitable to back against the market where possible say top 3 or 4 in place market - the question then being to covert the win tissue into a place rating ?GMM Yep i get your above and can appreciate the helpfulness of automating ratings into prices but i would not feel comfortable about using this MO. When i have my horse of interest my min price will include the strengths and needs in my pick and the perceived ones in the opposition. Difficult to explain the process but it is one i have followed for years.
What i would suggest is that anyone who has made it pay long term will have been obtaining value as part of. How this is done does not matter providing it works.
I very seldom bet EW so have no idea. I do not favor backing more than one in a race so on the occasions when i can see a live danger to my pick if i still decide to play then i might attempt to have enough on for the place to cover my win bet outlay but this can prove messy and i like to keep my staking simple. Some do (I dont ) currently that is but have trialed in the past and it is profitable to back against the market where possible say top 3 or 4 in place market - the question then being to covert the win tissue into a place rating ?
Are you wanting to calculate place odds? Some do (I dont ) currently that is but have trialed in the past and it is profitable to back against the market where possible say top 3 or 4 in place market - the question then being to covert the win tissue into a place rating ?
Would be nice addition to haveAre you wanting to calculate place odds?

Very nice thank you - although I am generally win only - all info is valuable and no doubt some members will be very happy to have this info to hand - especially as more and serious punters are being forced onto the exchanges - hope they offer thanks for receiving a valuable tool gratis and perhaps enlarge the conversation with furthure comments and suggestions.
I tried but I think
Hats off to anyone who can compile their own tissue but in the past I have just used instinct to roughly work out if the horse has value odds. Problem I found with a tissue, is how do you know what importance to give each variable, and also some variables overlap with other variables. Too much work for me
One way is to Just work on your total ratingI tried but I think
