The system doesn't refer to a limit, but it does claim that it has never gone beyond game 4 of a series.

The 4th series was actually 4 losses before the win, but one of the selections was a cup game and so was not a valid pick. So the author's claim of not going beyond the 4th game seems to be holding up...

The Toulouse game at the same time had exactly the same match odds and also qualified (Toulouse won 2-1). The system says to take the game with the odds closest to 1.6, but does not give any suggestion of how to choose when the odds are the same. As most losers have been been where there have been too many goals, I might use the over 2.5 odds in these circumstances - taking the game with the higher over 2.5 odds. I will try to find the o2.5 odds for the losing games today to see if there is a pattern.

I have now had a look at the o2.5 odds, and in all cases where there was strong o2.5 favourite, the bet lost. Not enough information to make areal decision on, but worth monitoring. Game 4 is about to be a loser as well - 1-1 with 3 mins to go.

The frustrating part is when there are 2 at equal odds - if I had gone with the Toulouae game, we wold have been on to a new series, only beig 3pts down after Malaga...
