Suppose we have these odds for Manchester Utd. vs Chelsea
On Bwin
1 ( 1.80)
X ( 2.90 )
2 ( 6.00 )

On 10Bet
1 ( 1.95 )
X ( 2.90 )
2 ( 5.10 )

Then a bot may detect an opportunity to place a bet on 1 on 10Bet and on 2 on BWin , so that you have the best possible odds for both.
Is that the goal ?

That's one type of arb, with the above example you would need to find odds on all 3 outcomes 1X2 which resulted in a guranteed profit. There are websites which will find these opportunities for you.

It's a strangely quiet folder with the amount of bots around nowadays for exchanges etc.

Yes, I know several programs that provide signals earlier than the broadcasts, giving an advantage of 2-3 seconds, allowing you to place a bet on an event that is yet to happen.
