I was at Aintree the other day. Hard, hard work and it'll be the same at plenty of courses this week. I came up with this idea - I don't know if there's much mileage in it or not but the figures suggest there might be.
Logic
- Heavy ground can produce poor performances that don't reflect a horse's chance on another day
- Good horses with good chances can pull up because it's just not a going day
- So long as they have a reasonable rest, they could be underestimated next time out
I'm not gonna test it, but it's there if anybody wants to run with it or tinker with it for their own use.
