Advice on Calculations

Hi

Hope somebody maybe able to help me

I want to create a little spreadsheet (related to Trading)
where for example I have one horse called A and I want to back him for £100

so his price on betfair is say

£20 available at 5.0
£35 available at 4.6
£20 available at 4.0 and
£25 available at 3.8

What I would like to know is how do you calculate what the average price is if I
took all those prices to put on £100

Thanks in Advance

I would hazard a guess that it is along the lines of:
20*(5.0-1) = 80.0 +
35 * (4.60-1) = 126.00 +
20 * (4.0-1) = 60.0 +
25 * (3.80 -1) = 70

Totals = 336.00
then 336.00/your total stake= 336.00/100 = 3.36
then plus one to get it back into decimal format (+1)
Average odds = 4.36

Perhaps someone will be along soon to either confirm my maths or put me in my place....Lol

Betfair can do this for you. If you place more than bet that is actually matched at different odds.

Select the 'Open bets' tab

This will show you any matched bets.

Click in Average odds to select. And it will show you the average odds.
