7 SYSTEMS ON TEST

BiyaX

Yearling
I'm posting the 7 systems I've prepared by making some observations and reasoning below to test. I will test each system on 500 virtual bets. Interested friends can also test it and share their opinions here. What's wrong with a hand? There is a sound of both hands.

1. The Racing Post Ratings System
The
aim is to produce a short-list of potential winners from horses with ability or those showing potential. Both these factors are indicated by the TOPSPEED and/or RACING POST RATINGS in the Racing Post.
The system is very easy to follow, with just five basic steps.
STEP ONE: Note all horses are within two points of the Top-Rated RACING POST RATINGS horse; including those equally rated.
STEP TWO: Exclude any horse is the TOPSPEED Top-Rated on BOTH LATEST and BEST ratings, both ratings being equal; (indicated in bold print).
STEP THREE: Exclude any horse who's Recent Form has an 'X' or a '?' in the box, or an 'X' in the TRAINER FORM box.
STEP FOUR: Exclude horses not in the first three places at least once in last two starts.
STEP FIVE SELECTIONS TO SHORT-LIST: The ovious choice is the only horse not excluded. When more than one remains pick the one is highest rated on the Racing Post Ratings; should there be equals then pick the one earliest named in the Racing Post betting forecast.

2. Improving Horses System
Here
is a system that looks for 'improving' race horses. It is really easy to follow and produces many winners for Flat and National Hunt racing.
All you do is check three form factors to see if a horse qualifies under the system rules.
First off look for a horse that has a better form figure for it's latest start than that achieved in it's penultimate start.
Now check today's Racing Post Rating is has a higher than its last rating.
The final qualifying factor is the class of the race. The horse must be contesting a higher class race today than in any of it's last three races.
That's it, you now have an 'improving' horse; or maybe more than one. When you do end up with several qualifiers in a race, use your judgement to pick from them. If you are not up to the job, leave the race alone, there will always be others with a clear cut selection!

3. "GUN" BETTING SYSTEM
Using
the Racing Post forecast note races where there is a clear first and a clear second in the betting. Next check to make certain there is no more than 4 horses quoted at less than 8/1 in the Racing Post forecast.
The final requirement is there must be at least 4 horses quoted at 18/1 or more in the Racing Post forecast. These are the only races to be considered.
You need to access the opening prices of your chosen races, easy with all the online bookies and info at the betting shops. What you are looking for is the two shortest priced horses when the betting opens.
Only one of these horses must be in the first two prices of the Racing Post forecast, the other must must be 3rd or worse. You bet both these horses; the one in the first two prices of the Racing Post forecast and the one that has shortened at opening from out of the first two prices of the Racing Post forecast.
Your bet is to cover both these horse to make a profit no matter which horse wins; commonly known as a "dutch" bet. Take a price on the horses if you can and bet each to win £100. The total stake on the two horses should be less than £100, the difference being your profit. You should allow for any commissions if you are using betting exchanges.
You will be surprised how often one of the two horses wins. So much so I prefer to use my own criteria to pick one of the two for a single win bet. I would suggest you do the same - unless you are afan of "Dutching.

4. All Weather System
This is a very selective system so don’t expect bet every day; you will rarely get more than two or three a week, often less – if any.
The System Rules:
1. Consider only all-weather flat racing
2. Note only selections of TOPSPEED that are aged three or four years
3. Exclude any that are NOT clear FAVOURITE in the Racing Post forecast from 6/4 to less than 8/1
4. Now exclude any horse that did not finish first or second on its last start
5. Finally, exclude horses that have not raced in the past seven weeks; 49 days.

40% winners and about 60% profit

5. Picking Winner System

This is simply the lowest weighted horse that was in the first three places last time out during the current season and is not one of the horses quoted in the first two prices of the Racing Post betting forecast.

6. SAFE and COOL system
So Easy .. ..
Trainer/Jockey Combination that wins 25% or more with at least 15 races run.
Jockey did NOT ride the horse in its most recent race. ( Better if won on the horse in the past )

7. easy profit system

Lay the nap selections from Racing Post NAPS TABLES tipsters having losing records equal or worse -20 points and Back the nap selections from Racing Post NAPS TABLES tipsters having a wining records equal or better than +20 points.
Never lay with odds more than 6.0 and no backing with odds less than 2.5

Good Luck

BiyaX BiyaX , I obviously wish you all the best with these, but I am sure that I'm not the only one who is a bit bewildered by them . Perhaps if you could go into further details about the logic behind some of the apparantly random 'rules' you might get some feedback.
Just as an example - where do you get the ' less than 4 horses at less than 4/1 and at least 4 at more than 18/1' from?

I also use systems to find my selections, but I always try to justify each step of the process - usually by trying to work out some narrative/storyline behind why my selection is in that particular race at that particular time.
Sometimes it's based on trying to get inside the mind of the trainer, sometimes that of the horse itself

Some of my systems are very basic, but hey ho, if it shows a long term profit that's good enough for me.
I have a share in a horse that's running tomorrow, and I know that he has been targeted at that race since he was ballotted out of the Royal Hunt Cup.

Can't get much more basic than that - I know that the horse will be trying (and that's a big bonus just for starters!)

Anyway best of luck with your systems and looking forward to reading your more in depth reasoning behind them.

are you betting, win, place, each-way, are you taking early prices or using bfsp or sp?

WELL EXPLAINED
PLEASE READ THESE

Many years ago my local bookie at the time gave me advice to look for "an all acrosser" which seems similar to one of your systems 2. Improving Horses System.

I cant decipher that well what you are after @
BiyaX
BiyaX if you have been doing these methods for years and are doing well with them why go deeper, i never use SF now and when i did years ago i only used certain ranges.
I'm not after anything. As a professional gambler, I don't need HRB to make money from horse racing. But, most likely HRB needs me. By the way, my tips are free and always will be.

Most of 'your' systems use ratings from the Racing Post that are not available within HRB
Ok Thanks AR for your help! i have never used the racing post or any ratings in fact, only the old split second speed ratings years ago in ranges, they must be very special the way BiyaX BiyaX has utilized them to good benefit.

It should be flexible, liberal and dynamic. HBR ratings can be used instead of Racingpost ratings. There is no cure from crying, does the flesh ever leave the nail.

Is it not possible to transfer Racingpost ratings to HBR as software?
Maybe you could use your ratings to finalize things after you have your probables from all the other relevant factors you use beforehand. As a cross check function if you like from your previous system deductions gained from HRB.
